I was just going to ignore this thread until I read this load of bollocks.
Rugby players spend the game trying to gouge, punch, bite and rake studs over each other without being caught.
Hardly gentlemanly because they don't argue with the ref is it?
I blame the steroids they're on.
Rugby is just a good way to keep a bunch of thugs away from the public for a few hours.
Same game, different rules. Like test, one day & twenty20 in cricket.

There's enforced blood replacements in both sets of rules.

They are different versions of the same game.
A player who is bleeding is sent to the blood bin by the referee. One of the club's 4 named subs are used as a replacement & this uses up one of their allocated interchanges

I'm pleased you didn't try to argue that rugby players are more respectful and gentlemanly than anyone else because quite clearly, they're not.
Enjoy rugby if you wish, I have relatives who play at national level, but spare me the rank hypocrisy of claiming its a much more refined and well run sport than football because frankly you'd be talking utter bollocks.

Agree with all of that and I think some of you are taking this a bit lightly. Why would another professional sports club who ground share with us have people amongst their support who want us to be relegated, go bust and fold up? Is not as though we play the same game.
Read the history of Hull City, this code, club and supporters have been trying to stifle us ever since we started getting bigger crowds then them in 1904, we ground shared then and they kicked us off!
It shouldn't be like this and I don't think it is in Leeds. It is in Wigan and I don't think we have the same level of opposition and resentment from HKR, club and fans.
If this was another football club operating a website like this against us there would be open warfare, so why is this any different?
It was ages ago. My access got locked after another posting which they didn't like.
One I did like was one which showed the fantasy world they live in. One FC fan complained Wigan had nicked an FC song. The song? "Oh my lads you should have seen their faces...". I pointed out this was The Blaydon Races which had been Newcastle's song for a long time. Some seemed unaware of the song or its connection to Newcastle.
When I pointed out every rugby song they sung apart from Old Faithful was a football song I got the reply "they aren't football songs they are terrace songs". My enquiry as to which terraces they had started on received no reply. There was a discussion about Old Faithful being the oldest sporting song which again demonstrated their lack of any knowledge of these things.
Almost as deluded was the one who defended supporting a football team by asserting that you chose to support your local rugby team but your football team chose you. My observation that it was odd how Rochdale, Crewe, Hartlepool or Exeter never chose any of them was the end of that one.
I think it was more a case of the RFL not wanting City at the Boulevard. Worried about the crowds the new club were getting in the rugby stronghold. You are right about Wigan and Leeds. Wigan have had the same as us, a local media bulling up the game, every bit of trouble at football highlighted whilst those at rugby brushed under the carpet. It is a fact that every season Wigan Athletic were on a level playing field appearing in the top flight that they have had a higher average crowd in the supposed rugby mad town.
As for Leeds, I have lived there and never once heard a rugby fan hoping the football team failed. One year they had both won something and they had a joint bus parade and appearance at the town hall. Worth noting the largest crowd for a local RL Derby there was 54,000 compared to the 27,000 in Hull. One thing in common, they were both at the football club's ground. Another difference is Leeds rugby have won a lot more than the football team but no one uses this as a reason to claim it is a rugby city as they do in Hull.
I don't think anyone would claim that, whilst the FA, UEFA and FIFA are corrupt and ill effective the RFL is also an utter shambles. Much like football common sense is severely lacking in the governing bodies of RL.
