I,ve come to, the conclusion that eggchasers are a special breed. I live very close to the KC, and during the summer months I sit out on my front most nights usually with a beer in my hand. Since rugby has been at KC, every match day we get a lot of eggchasers parking their cars etc, also down my street every one is a black an white. I have over the years, as I,m an out going sort of a bloke have got to know a lot of people parking cars (they usually stop to have a natter with me) and the neighbours and car parkers know I,m a City fan. When we were moving upwards they all praised our efforts and the remarks "your lot are doing ok for themselves" was lovely to hear. And "good luck at Wembley Bob, hope you have a good day mate" was also nice. But F****** hell when we reached our pinnacle, how the conversation changed "You wont stay up" Your in Free fall mate" then waffling about what Brownie should be doing even thon non of em had ever been to see a football match in there lifes. A lot of them hated the fact that we had more inches in the HDM and thay were playing second fiddle. They are deluded in the fact that Hull is a football city but they truly believe that rugby is still king. In the 70,s and 80,s they may have had an argument. I still use the boozers down Hessle road and a lot of people as expressed in earlier posts think that just by wearing a black and white shirt but never going to watch FC that they are Hull FC through and through "what a load of F****** Tosh. Rant over...

Does Gateshull's defeat last weekend to the only true Hull rugby league club remaining not count for anything then?

As for the FC fans. If we go back a few years to when we both played at the KC on the same day. Our game with Ipswich was moved to lunchtime because they had the SL playoff tie to play that night. We'd gone into town after our game, had some food and drinks while we watched the Man U game on the telly. The rugby kicked off 5 minutes before the football finished, you should have heard the moaning bastards going off on one because they wouldn't turn the TV over until the football finished, and they started with 15 minutes left. Made for a great atmosphere with the football fans telling them to **** off and watch it in the ground everytime they said anything. When we turned over and they were losing it was the biggest cheer of the night and we spent the rest of the game cheering on the opposition and ripping them about how they must be pissed off loyal fans like them had been denied a ticket by a load of people who couldn't be bothered to turn up on the night.

I thought Rugby League was a summer game now? They've played two games and it's still winter. No wonder the pitch looks bad when it is taking that kind of hammer in February.
