Burton, Bolton, Gillesphey, Butcher, Edwards, Hardie, Lonwijk, Waine, C Wright, Matete, Endacott. Subs Cooper, Ennis, Mumba, Randell, Halls, Issaka, Roberts. I see Earley is in the starting eleven.....we were told he was cup bound ? Looks like Schumacher has Saturday in mind.....No Scarr, Houghton, Wilson, Mayor etc....not the strongest team. Waine in team.....no Earley....assume that was a typing error.
Sorry but I still don't care although pleased they beat Bristol Rovers or more to the point their gobby Manager. Wonder what he will moan about this time.
Oh yea i watched it from afar.. Horrible pitch, but Argyle coped with it better. Should have been 4-0. the new guys played well.
Semi-final draw will be on Sky Sports on Saturday 14th after the football.......games to be played week commencing 20th of February......so another good pay day plus TV money.
In hindsight Argyle did well playing such a changed starting eleven from their usual league selection. With Scarr, Cooper, Houghton, Wilson, Mayor not involved getting a clean sheet was good against a team that have shown good form recently.
The best news was probably that Finn Azaz could have taken part but was not considered to avoid any risk of a relapse. Assuming his recovery continues, it will make a lot of difference to have him available again.
Argyle's league opposition this coming Saturday (21st)....Cheltenham are also our Papa Johns semi-final opponents on Saturday 21st February at home. We will not get a better chance of a trip to Wembley than this.
But will we wish to go... I continue to loath this competition but it seems disloyal not to support the players who I suspect will view the chance to play at Wembley very differently.
A trip to WEMBLEY to watch Argyle....how can that ever be a problem. Even if the trophy is a bit of chewing gum stuck on the bedpost over night.....why would you let your loathing of this trophy stop you having a day at WEMBLEY.
It's the power of money that defines most things.....so we grab what we can....like a trip to WEMBLEY.
For me and son it would be somewhere around £300. I would not waste my money on this. Bit cheaper from Kent I would imagine. I don't like this competition and I don't intend to change my mind even though I could never seriously wish for Argyle to lose anything. Best of luck to the players and those who want to go but not for me.
We have not been in it for a few years - in fact we won it the year we went up in 2015 (a nice double) They have ruined the competition by allowing the PL U21's in it Still its a great day out at Wembley (when you win)
I have just determined that the final is on the 2nd April: we don't play our last home league fixture until 29th April and there might be play-off games after that. I'd rather go to a couple of extra league games than trek up to Wembley - £75 of fuel plus tickets plus parking - which could be another £40.
It is a full glass. We look forward eagerly to an exciting run-in to potential promotion to the Championship.
Sheffield W fans are confident of not only promotion but being champions.....because they are in front of Ipswich.....no mention of little Argyle at all. Touch of under the radar for us then......sounds good to me.
