The Cowley brothers are taking on the Portsmouth job until the end of the season i read this morning.
The last time we played them at home JJ scored a hat trick. To me that just shows Portsmouth have somebody else lined up a bit like Lampard at Chelsea
Its twelve plus 2 caretakers Ivic had to go the football was unwatchable had he gone a few games earlier we would be closer to Norwich I hope you keep Ainsworth there seems a real connection with your club like us and Graham Taylor Lat season Luton were in the same position as you and escaped on the last day Whatever happens I hope you have a great season with fans back in the stadiums
On about managers personally I don't think ours deserves the sack, I do think with some of the home performances we have had he really has got away with one. Football supporters are renowed for having very short memories. The atmosphere at home games with a crowd could have been awful, especially for the people who go every week.
Apart from 2 thrashings, which has happened to several teams, we have achieved good results against Premiership destined teams and others near promotion. This with only £120k spent. I don't think the owners could have hoped for any more. I thought we would get thrashed by Watford but could honestly say we were unlucky not to win. Gareth has done well with what he has (a few strange substitutions, but I suspect there were reasons for those). If he can keep the squad next year with a couple of improvements, we should do OK. If not, who knows. We could struggle to find someone who could do any better on our budget
I agree Ron what I was getting at football supporters have very short memories & so do some owners, No 41 has just hit the pages the Salford manager Wellens has gone after winning Salford's first trophy as a football league side
Your season in The Championship has been like ours in the Premiership last season. He seems like a decent manager. I would stick with him, you might well be back next season.
