Derek Adams has left Morecambe after being linked with the Bradford vacancy, maybe he soiled himself at the thought of meeting Ainsworth again.
These managers are as daft as the players, I know Bradford are a bigger club than Morecambe, why drop back down into league 2 at least try & stay up with the club who you got promoted
I remember quite a few seasons back when Paul Cook was our manager in Division 2, when the snidey Plymouth manager Adams made a nasty comment to him, and it took two of our backroom staff to hold Cookie back from giving him a good hiding. Adams is a revolting character, so I personally am delighted he won't be showing his face at Fratton Park next season !!
Erm......Adams does have promoted 2 clubs on his CV. I figured there might be a bit of cheering on here when I heard the news today. One thing you cannot say about Adams is that he follows the money. It really isn't in his character. Despite him not being Mr Popular with a number of other managers you cannot take anything away from his achievements and the kind of budget he has achieved it with. His style of football is a bit dour to watch but he gets results. You have to give the man some credit like him or not.
So what was the comment then Wooperts? I distinctly remember Adams saying he was leaving Morecambe and staying in league two because he wouldn't have to visit Fratton Park again. He also said he remembered Cooke throwing a paddy and it was a good job his staff held him back or else he would have had to give Cookie a smack. He also remembered the play off semi with fondness............
Easy answer Wooperts because the reality is you just don't know do you. Somebody said Adams said something even though they don't know what it was. Ergo Cookie would of course give him a sound thrashing even though you don't know how hard Adams is or how tough Cookie is. I made up the rest of my post but it's as accurate as your comments were. You are allowed to say you don't like the bloke for no reason at all except you think he's annoying without making up a saga about him. I'm glad he isn't our Manager now but it doesn't detract from his record of promotions.
Yes all very clever that you can put pictures up on a screen but a bit like the clown Boris you haven't got an answer to the question about your statement of fact. Is that because like Boris you make it up as you go along. Adams may not be to everyone's liking but his record is quite good. He does seem to thrive in the lower divisions and if he thinks that's his best place then who is to say he is wrong. Argyle fans slag him off a lot of the time but that's because they have short memories. His results here, and lets face it that is the test of a manager we are always told in a results business, were decent. In the season we went back down the players jacked it in and had no fight or heart in the end. Maybe that was a bit to do with Adams and his attitude but they were still being paid to do a job which they failed to do. Half of them then buggered off. I repeat that I am no fan of Adams style of football and am glad he isn't here now but that doesn't mean he is a crap manager in clubs that have nothing. He has done a brilliant job at Morecambe and that is a fact that can't be denied. What was the snidey remark then? Did he diss his shell suit and trainers or ask for the canteen spoons back? That would have been really nasty.
Sorry to invade your board with a bit of a tiff chaps. I just get annoyed when somebody says something about somebody they really don't know much about due to a single incident that they don't even know much about and it becomes a hate thing. It's just bollox. Adams is a bit of a marmite character if he manages your club but isn't exactly known about world wide. "Adam is a revolting character" is a bit on the strong side when it's used in that vein. Anyway I'm bored with it now so will move on.
Is he like the other one can not remember his name I think he might be at Gillingham now, made his name at Crawley
