From 1st June it is going up by £4.75 (they don't say if that includes VAT - probably not so £5.70 in total. I hate paying for overpaid arseholes in the Prem.
Look on Moneysavingexpert.com where Martin Lewis has more on this and tips on how to possibly avoid it.
Ring them up and be honest and tell them you cannot afford the packages and can they help out. don't get angry with them. Be honest and they should give you a deal. They would rather lose £5 a month than £60 if you leave. I did this and got a good deal from them.
I'm seriously considering scrapping Sky altogether and just streaming. The quality of streams now when you hook it up to the TV is almost always good. Has anyone got one of these Kodi sticks? Heard good things about them.
I did this too. I got a deal that gave me two extra boxes and a cheaper deal! It's expired now and they've just put my subscription up so I'll be giving them a call.
I have Sky multi-room, plus Sports and Movies. If I tell 'em that I can't afford the payments and can I get a better deal, would they tell me to simply cancel multi-room or one of the packages?
Me too. Reduced by £23 pcm for six months. Crazy prices otherwise. Keep looking at Virgin. Not really cheaper but slightly better value for money.
Switched to Virgin a year ago. Same channel package, plus 200Mb broadband and saving around £45 a month for my tv/internet/phone...
I don't understand that. Every time I've done a like for like comparison, I've never saved anything. What am I doing wrong?
New deal for a new customer. When I roll in what I was paying for bt phone, broad band plus sky tv, the savings on the bundle add up to a lot... http://store.virginmedia.com/big-bundles/big-kahuna.html
I scrapped sky hoping they would come back to me after a few months and give me a "can't say no" offer, in the meantime I used my mates sky go " as he doesn't use it. They came back to me with great offers but I'm totally happy with just using sky go for free. That and Youview is better than paying '£70 a month.
Do you actually get 200mbps Chaz? Every week I get Virgin offers through the letter box, telling me my area is ok for fibre optic to the house. Got the BT version at the moment, where the fibre optic goes to the exchange but not the house. It promises 100mbps but delivers 70 at best, average 45. Which is still ok for the number of devices we have running off the wifi (I've lost count). Contract up in August, considering the options. Tempted by Virgin but don't need the TV stuff.
Bombarded is the word! At least once every 2 weeks. Strangely enough I had a chat to Virgin via the chat thingy and realised that they don't do Sky Atlantic which is indeed a good channel. I was looking at Now TV too. Anyone any experience with Now TV? Seems like you can get basic Sky Channels + Box sets I think and then pay for sports when QPR on TV. Anyone got it?
