Particularly the Tory party...............................................................................................................................................
It's just been turned into a simplistic football-style result, like a cup final loss, where those that aren't happy should 'pick themselves up and be ready for next season'. The simpletons spouting the usual 'sovereignty' and '£350M to the NHS' either won't be affected by the result or they're too stupid to comprehend the impact it will have. My parents are going to suffer as the majority of their pension is paid in the UK, my Dad is very ill and relying on the French healthcare system and the few savings they have are in their Lloyds account. I'm finding it very hard to actually meet a Brexiter nowadays, they've all slithered off back where they came from.
One of my good friends who lives near us is looking into French citizenship at this point in time..............
It's not still sure how it's going to affect people living in the EU, people that worked hard all their lives and have had their retirements ruined by idiots. Going to stop posting on the subject now, my language is going to change if that little turd of a man keeps on winding everyone up. He reminds be a lot of that other little idiot that everyone got upset about being banned, busybeingheadhunted or whatever he was called.
The Prime Minister's spokeswoman said today that Mrs May's comments on Friday' should not be interpreted that she was suggesting Scotland had some kind of block on Brexit negotiations. The Prime Minister has made it clear that leaving the EU is what the British voted for.' Cleared that up then.
Correction, it is what the English and Welsh voted for - 2 out of 4 if I'm not mistaken. Does TM. really want to go down in history as the PM. who tore the UK. apart ? How is it that you, who have churned out so much drivel about sovereignty, can find it ok. that Scotland and N.Ireland could be dragged out of the EU. against their will ? How can you say that the EU. is not democratic when every state within it has veto rights and also opt out rights, whereas the UK. which denies both, apparently is ?
The democratic referendum covered the whole of the UK, there was no provision for parts to legally challenge the result.
Of course it is just another scare story, similar to banks buying up office space in Paris. This chaos is likely to continue for some years yet, but it does show that the banks make plans, whereas Brexit had none, and now don't know what to do.
You're right OFH, I think I may have already mentioned about my work maintaining that it will stay in London. There was also a poster in the lift at work of 5 things that the bosses at HQ had considered and looked at.
Did the Scottish Parliament vote on there being a referendum in Scotland ? Did the Scottish MPs in Westminster vote for it ? The answer to both of these is no......the referendum was forced on them from the beginning. How many Tories got elected in Scotland, was it 1 or 2 ? There was never a mandate for a EU. referendum in Scotland, let alone accepting the result which may be forced on them.
Same old content free crap....with the same old one liners, and an absolute refusal to answer any awkward questions....why do you bother SH ?
So, can you accept the simple fac What simple facts SH ? You have a referendum result with a wafer thin majority with no legal validity - which the main protagonists have distanced themselves from, which is an embarassment to British politics, which has divided Britain and which threatens to break up a Union of over 300 years - do you dispute any of those 'facts' ? You have not answered the question of whether a Tory PM. is going to go into the history books for breaking up the Union and discarding the Union Jack to the dungheap of history - because that is what Brexit would mean.
We have a referendum result although advisory it is clearly the will of the people. The UK parliament will ensure the result becomes law. The most prominent of leave campaigners have not distanced themselves from the result whatsoever. Farage has achieved all he set out to achieve, he will be long remembered as the most influential politician of recent years. He has also recently suffered death threats to his children. Johnson has landed one of the most important positions in the new government. Gove, an excellent minister has unfortunately been overlooked, this is a loss for the country. Davis and Fox have also been given very senior positions in the government, both extremely able and experienced. A Tory PM has already gone down in history as the person who took the UK out of the EU. It is possible that Scotland vote to leave the rest of the UK, that is most unlikely but possible. Most of England is fed up with subsidising the whinging Scots anyway.
What are you talking about, nobody has taken the UK. out of the EU. we are still in. Have you not stopped to wonder why Cameron did not invoke Article 50 the day after the referendum, as promised. Now we hear it will not be until 2017 at the earliest - if they really wanted it then why not sooner ? The truth is that they cannot simply refuse the result of the referendum, but are playing for time, looking for a pretext - a change of circumstances, which Scotland may well give them.
Whilst my side (remain) lost, I'm still understanding that this was a referendum on a non develoved matter and therefore it matters not if the majority in London, Scotland or some village in the outer hebrides voted differently to the majority within the electorate as a whole on this issue, it is simple, not good but simple. There is no case for another vote up here on independence and frankly if there were to be one I'm selling up and heading for the high seas, enough of these idiots in government globally making a right mess of the entire planet. I agree the government is playing for time, we will go full ahead but at very low speed down the Brexit fork but any sane government would be looking for an opportunity to minimize impact or preferably not follow through completely and in the event of a major European conflict all bets are off as to what is going to emerge.
Cameron's promise to invoke article 50 the day after the referendum was simply another part of the scare tactics. The politicians in charge of Brexit will rightly use the rules to the UK's advantage and invoke article 50 when they consider preparatory systems are in place. This seems a sensible approach. Who do you think is looking to sabotage Brexit? Scotland's view will ultimately be ignored as it should be.
Scotlands view will not be ignored, as part of the UK it is integral and cannot be separated on this issue. Wee nippy Krankie needs to wind her neck in and start doing the job she's paid for and deal with the devolved issues such as health and education that are going down the pan under the SNP. Scotland or rather Scottish politicians have a very valuable contribution to make in sorting out the best deal for UK Plc and working as a team Holyrood and Westminster to get the best possible standard of opportunity and living for the people despite the people having been taken in by the lies of the BoJo Fartage circus troupe..
