The Tories will simply promise NI similar to what they promised Scottish shipyards - an order to build 26 Navy ships.

Then cut it down to three. :(

They've already had an extra £billion, that should do them...

Personally i'm glad we're not wasting money on more ships, especially after the last fiasco with the carrier.

But that was for the DUP - I doubt any of that will go to the people...<whistle>

I'm not worried about ships - they are, so to speak, a mere drop in the ocean. I'd like to stop the wastage on Trident and the various missiles we build that make life a misery in Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan etc etc.

Do you know I had the same thought. I actually couldn't believe there was anyone alive( well maybeTrump) with such a combination of arrogance, smugness and selective thought processes which seemed designed to annoy/antagonise rather than debate.
So I think he/sheit is in fact a message answering system in Tory central office which analyses all messages sent through the ether and responds to keywords.
If not then I for one will encourage the French traffic controllers to go on permanent strike on Sunday

That's good, I'll be in my super hotel by then, I'm quite happy to let the minions take care of the ranch during my extended holiday. I need to be back though for the next holiday at the end of October.

Are you free to do a bit of gutter cleaning?

I thought you lived on a perpetual building site with a nice oak framed garage?

Just lock it up and park a Transit at the entrance and any passing wrong 'uns will think it's a pikey site. <ok>

I think that we are focusing on here too much on the Brexiters ie. the right wing supporters of Brexit. What about the Lexiters ie. the people who wanted to leave for left wing reasons ? It shouldn't be forgotten that Michael Foot wanted to leave in his 1983 manifesto, and also Tony Benn was in favour of leaving at some stage. They realized that a future left wing British government would not be able to reshape the economy in the interests of the people whilst inside of the EU. European state aid laws would make it impossible for the state to take over loss making businesses. Likewise the future nationalization of railways and the energy sector would also be very difficult within the EU. For many on the left the EU. has evolved into a neoliberal market place - essentially a neoliberal prison which bans socialism within it's framework. We have seen the enforced privatizations in Greece, the enforced austerity there, and how the powers at be completely overruled Greek democracy. We have seen how Wallonia was regarded as a 'problem' for exercizing democracy through concerns about CETA - and more or less forced to vote again until they got the right result. The truth is that there is no country or region which has the power to say ''no'' to the ravages of CETA or TTIP if the EU. commission has decided they should be forced through. How many 'Lexiters' were there amongst the Brexit vote ? Do we have any counter argument ? We know why people like Bojo and Farage wanted to leave - but why also George Galloway ?
