In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion,[3] often for the troll's amusement. says it all....
Poor show OFH, you obviously missed the basic lesson on being a moderator. You choose to ignore blatant insults from a poster just because he is firmly in your anti Brexit whinging cartel. Hopefully we will get a moderator 'homer' ref at the Vic on Saturday with a similar attitude.
So, the logical conclusion of this post is that you consider our forum as being a 'Whinging cartel' - if that is the case then why do you waste your time on here ?
All that Tory waffle about 'Spain will veto Scotland's Independence' appears to have partially true. This from the official EU response to TM's Brexit letter, confirms that Spain do indeed have the power to veto... Unfortunately for them, their veto will apply to UK - not Scotland...
Here is the response from our Government, and if you take a look at the comments at the bottom, I'd say they sum up what a pointless exercise it is, especially given that most of the finance sector are multi-nationals, including my employers: http://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2017/03/30/ministers-sign-off-900k-brexit-review-of-finance/
Can I ask that something is done about the behaviour of our troll..to insult Frenchie is a new low. Go SH I don't see one voice supporting your divisive and self gratifying membership here.......
I don't know if it's in the same episode where Sir Humphrey says that you can't have Iran, Iraq and Israel sitting together at the UN because it could cause WWIII, then says that you could put Ireland in there to solve that, but Ireland never solves anything!
https://www.ft.com/content/8393b2d0-1b89-11e7-a266-12672483791a EU considering excluding UK from trade talks before Brexit. After being told this "The UK government has promised to be “loyal” to the EU in its trade affairs..." - I'm not surprised. After all, they do have a world-wide reputation for telling porkies...
In town we have an Avenue de Europe and half way along is a roundabout with 28 flag poles on it. Over the winter the flags of all of the EU nations had become battered and shredded by the wind. The flags have all been replaced this weekend, apart from one pole that is now empty. Not much point wasting money on a country that doesn't wish to be there.
It is very exciting the UK will have its freedom from control by the unelected eurocrats. I fully expect the french to be the most spiteful of all the remaining EU members. They really should be concentrating on their own poor growth and mounting debt mountain.
I take it that by 'unelected eurocrats' you are referring to the European Commission. Their role is to draft proposals for legislation, and as guardian of treaties. Although the Commission is not democratically elected their role is in no way different to civil servants in the UK. ie. they are answerable to the EU. Parliament - which has the power to dismiss it. Any legislation proposed by it cannot be implemented without the approval of the EU. Parliament. Which means - Britain is not controlled by unelected Eurocrats, but rather by politicians who were voted for by our fellow Europeans (ourselves included). In fact 95% of all laws passed by the EU. Parliament were voted for by the British representatives there - a higher ratio than for any other country. It would suggest that there are more elements of political power in Britain which are not subject to democratic control than you would find in the EU. But, hang onto your fairy tales if it makes you feel good.
I am very pleased that you are still very excited. How is that house progressing? I guess it must have the roof on by now.
Agreed, there are far too many unrepresented peers in the second chamber, i.e. Liberals and church representatives. I'm really looking forward to the UK parliament being sovereign on UK matters. Without Brexit the EU has massive problems looming with the lack of consensus over its future direction.
