Of course we are Leo. We make comments and others read them. Ok. we don't have the same circulation figures but that's not the point. It's theoretically possible that MPs in the Commons read our threads.......although the odds are small !

Yes - but you know he was referring to professionals - not us with our banter.

I am one of those who believe that anything can happen in politics, and I see many things that could throw things up in the air. I think back 25 years to when there were huge demonstrations about the Poll Tax, (I do not wish to get into the rights or wrongs of that one). The Tories had a comfortable majority of round about a 100 and could do more or less what they wanted. Thatcher set her sights on raising more money, and six months after the battle of Trafalgar Square she was gone. She set out on a course that was rejected by a large number of people, not a majority, and paid the price. Not many people could see that happening, unless you lived in Scotland and had payed it for a year, but then the SNP only had 3 MPs, and look how many there are now.

I've always had a sense of humour, I've been a WFC supporter over 50 years!!

I'm not so keen on being liked on this forum, I don't want to join the 'lefty' enforcers.

Parliament has already backed Brexit by voting to trigger article 50 by March 31st. It was overwhelming 461 to 89.
It looks almost impossible article 50 will not be invoked.

I agree - again. It could only happen if Corbyn decided to change his strategy.

To be fair to Corbyn he is in an impossible situation, some might say it is his own making, but I don't. You cannot blame the leader of the LP for 37% of Labour voters taking a position which supported the changed Tory government after the referendum. He cannot win whichever way he goes, unfortunately his differing does make him look weak. Whatever happens the only certainty is the ever increasing lack of influence the LP will have on politics in the UK.
The Labour Party is now paying the price for its refusal over the last 10 years to accept that immigration has been the number one concern in the UK. UKIP will continue to make progress in the north of England unless these concerns are addressed.

The odd thing is that everyone thought brexit would harm the Tories whereas it is Labour that have ended up in no mans land. You have to say the Tories of old are a power party. When they have to they close ranks and mae sure they stay in power. It is easy not to admire that and to say a party should stand on principle. As Labour under Corbyn are finding out though you need to be in power to get your policies in place.

Hopefully the left will continue to ignore the concerns of its core voters, no wonder parties of the left in most European countries are losing support rapidly.

Why is it a lie and not an honest opinion? Have you not seen the rise of first the BNP and then when that became taboo the rise of UKIP? You really need to stop declaring that everything you do not agree is a right wing lie. It is quite possbly correct. Personally I do not think so as I think austerity has been the major thing but how about debating views and not being so dogmatic? Are you always correct?

Did you notice how the Tories closed ranks in the last vote on Brexit, only one Tory voted against the government.

There is no evidence. Absolutely none. Has immigration been a concern for some people? Yes, Brexit is the proof of that. Has it been the number one concern in the UK for the last 10 years? No.

Am I always correct? Where did I ever claim I was? Another sly dig <doh>

The 'concerns' were whipped up by the media and far right pressure groups IMO .

In many cases the strong BREXIT votes were in places where immigrant workers were doing the work no one else wanted. It is completely daft. IMO it is 'acceptable racism'

What do you consider UKIP's key concern to be? It is so easy to blame the media and far right pressure groups. 4 million people voted UKIP - do you beleive most of them were concerned about sovereignty or the economy?
