Hazard told Chelsea TV: 'The boy put his whole body onto the ball and I was just trying to kick the ball and I think I kicked the ball and not the boy. I apologise.

'The ball boy came in the changing room and we had a quick chat and I apologised and the boy apologised as well, and it is over. Sorry.'

It will be all under the carpet. The ball boy is the17 yr old spoilt son of our major share holder, who iust happens to own the hotel your players were staying at before/after the game.

Strangely I feel that is more acceptable than if he had kicked a different ballboy.

I think Hazard did the right thing, the ball boy needs a good kicking for being Welsh :)
Can we expect Rat face to get get a ban as well?

Have I mistakenly been directed to the Liverpool board ?

    Outrage.

**** me the ball boy is 17, he's not some 12 year old kid. From what I've seen Hazard kicked the ball ? He was right to be sent off but talk of further action in nonsense.

I dislike Chelsea but like Ruff lets not get carried away.

EDIT : However I am aware of what the reaction would have been from the Chelsea fans if it was say Rooney and not Hazard who had kicked out.

I think it's hilarious. That club is out of control.

The Über Chavs would be demanding a lifetime ban if Rooney had kicked the lad. They still twat on about Rio assaulting a steward by kicking a ball that hit her (mind you, she could have been killed). As it is they're blaming the ball boy on this occasion. He's at fault in the same way as that intern who Ashley Cole shot!

Rafa is the man for the job!

This...I dislike Chelsea as much as the next man, but it wasn't a deliberate kick to the ribs. Some papers have pictures of Hazard trying to step over this kid and it looks like he's stamping on him.<laugh>
He'll rightly get banned, but people need to know the difference between being stupid and being malicious.
(It was still ****in hillarious though<ok>)

    Fair comment mate <ok>

I think the Cantona incident was arguably a result of Utd being punished for doing the right thing. We banned him for four months the next day, so the FA felt they had to be seen to be tougher and arbitrarily doubled our ban. Bit of a joke - I'm sure if we'd responded in the way Liverpool and Chelsea would have done, i.e. refused to admit Cantona had done anything wrong, worn t-shirts with his face on and accused Simmons of racism, thuggery, bias, playing the race card and pretty much anything else we could think of Cantona would probably have ended up with eight games instead of eight months.

As for Hazard he undoubtedly deserved to be sent off and, regardless of what he was aiming for, the kick was vicious enough that he definitely intended to give the ball boy a good bruise. Even if he'd made clean contact with the ball the follow through was always going to hurt the lad. Personally I think six games would be fair - the standard three game ban doubled for the severity of the incident and the fact it was a non player he attacked.

The ball boy should be fired and not allowed to do that job again.

    Watch it again Shwan.
Saw the close up 360 degree HD cam on Sky Sports this morning.
Clearly shows Hazard kicking the ball from under him an rolling out the other side.

Hes not the first footballer to kick someone off the pitch. He is the first to kick a kid I think though.

tbh i don't want Haazard to be banned more than the 3 games.. as they will play City and I will need him playing to take some points out of City , but i find defending his action is unacceptable
