That “pass” when willock had a clear run in the box was ****ing infuriating. He’s just not PL level. His dribbling is predictable, he has no killer instinct, can’t pass for ****, every cross seems hopeful rather than accurate. Really poor but he’s at least running…..
I thought Murphy was pretty poor yesterday, but he gives absolutely everything whereas max doesn't give anything at all defensively. I think while the sides winning there's no reason to dig any of the players out. Just well done lads and that's that from me.
Really, really don't understand your position on ASM. Murphy is gash. He didn't even "give his all" - Willock had to do a double shift, because Murphy kept disappearing right out onto the touchline. ASM can pick up a ball and get you 40 yards up the pitch, win a free kick, throw in, have a shot, etc. Murphy is scared to fail, can rarely - if ever - beat a man, and is woefully easy to get past as demonstrated last night repeatedly by Kyle Walker-Peters. ASM is pure stardust, attracts at least two players to him whenever he gets the ball and is currently the most successful dribbler/ball carrier in the entire league (except Rice, I think?). There's a vast difference between the two. We're much less of a threat when he's out. We're not less solid when he's in.
Max doesn't track back and at this level you can't afford a player not doing it. I love max he's pure entertainment, but if he's got the chance to pass he continues to dribble. I'd get rid if we can get a more rounded player, but right now definitely not.
Look, I'm more 'rounded' than Maxi but you wouldn't want me in the team. Let's give Eddie a chance to work with Maxi and develop his game. If he doesn't respond, then fair enough. But at the moment he's too valuable to just write off.
I'm not digging max out I just don't think he's ever going to do anything other than dribble and pretend he's hurt. He's a player the top clubs won't fancy and that's where nufc is heading. If he doesn't change his game he'll be cast off. Murphy does everything max doesn't do in some key areas of the game and vice versa.
