He speaks well.

I don’t expect seismic changes in the next game but evolution to a progressive attacking team will hopefully come in time. I wouldn’t be surprised if the first team he selects is very similar if not identical to the last game but then slow change thereafter.

What I would hope is that the commitment from the team is more on the second half of the Brighton game level and never again on the level of the first half. And that is what we should expect and get from the first kick of the Brentford game.

There’s something in the air, like he’ll get untapped potential from fit players that were left totally underwhelmed by being managed and coached by Bruce… I’ll be watching Joelinton, I’ve felt bad for the lad with the price tag and the expectation, and then seeing the difference he made at Brighton I just thought there’s a player there that I could support again - was he just crushed by Bruce and style and complete lack of direction…

A 90-minutes fit squad will make a big difference.

You know, this fella fills me with confidence…. we all know steering Bournemouth to the Premier League was an achievement and keeping them there even more so. I see media reports snarking about Eddie not being first choice, having his work cut out, defensively suspect… and rival fans having a dig. I don’t fear relegation primarily because of our owners and their ability to buy their way back up… and I certainly wouldn’t easily blame the new gaffer in view of where we are when he’s taken over and what he’s inherited to work with. He gets 2-3 seasons from me.

And I may be fantasising, but where’s the harm, the ‘greats’ have to come from somewhere; Sir Bobby was aged between 45-50 steering Ipswich to FA cup and UEFA cup wins…. Eddie’s younger - there’s absolutely no universal rule that says he couldn’t become something absolutely legendary at the Toon…. and I’d be so happy for him and for all of us if that happened.

these training videos, his press conference, the approach to fans, the aura that’s being given off is ****ING AWESOME and fits my post-takeover mood.

I can’t wait…
He’s took Bournemouth from nothing to top flight football with limited resources. He’s learned the ropes and he knows how to manage it.

He has earned the right to be here. The best thing is he appreciates that his hard work has given him the opportunity.

I honestly believe this is the right appointment and actually think AS and MG have made the right choice.

A lot of people (externally) do not really appreciate how good he was and he could get better.

There is a serious issue with the belief that foreign managers are better when actually it’s totally irrelevant where they come from.

Football has changed and EH has clearly stated that this last year he has used to reflect and learn.

It’s about progress. That’s all this is about.

He has a free hit. He can literally go Gung Ho and throw the kitchen sink at Brentford because he has a clean slate.

He also has two weeks to see what pieces of the jigsaw fit in with his ethos. I don’t expect anything but I wouldn’t be surprised if result aside we end up with 15% more possession than normal and more attacks.

That in itself and result aside again I would welcome that.

You can see and hear it in his voice. I bet he is going home at night time and looking in the mirror saying “I am manager of NUFC- holy ****”.

Then cast your mind to Bruce.

This right here and right now is where we all get on the train and enjoy it win lose or draw.

You’re on an Up-phase…. good news that, I saw what you said a week or two ago; always here mate

Longstaff was being touted for a £50m transfer to Man Utd when Rafa was getting a tune out of him! You don’t just become a **** player overnight…he’s (along with a number of others) been well and truly brucified! Our players look lost, frustrated and just down right down on motivation in a big way and have done for a long time!

Hard reset now tho, onwards and upwards!

Positive things don’t often happen in my life. And I have always leaned on nufc and the football to give me happiness.

The last 14 years have been purgatory. I shouldn’t live my life that way but what can I say. It’s in the blood.

So this last 5 weeks have brought me back from the dead.

I just want to watch good football and get excited again. The results don’t really matter for me.

Brucified is being added to the English dictionary.

“to be brucified is to lose one’s skill, quality, all sense of ability and ultimately hope” - Brucified!

We could get this trending it may happen.

it’ll be a fascinating football study if these same players, or at least a fair proportion of them, start improving…. and I’d hope the media would pick up on the implications for Bruce - the man seems to be stealing a living

I’ve seen a lot of people saying they’ve enjoyed watching those training snippets more than they’d enjoyed most matches the last few seasons… I know what they mean

there’s such a good feel everywhere GG

Brucification - the process of being moved from a point of adequacy or showing potential, to quickly underperforming, and being viewed as having no ability

Brucified - the observable end result of Brucification

“Had a right ****ing Bruce of a game” - an otherwise capable player at any club has a one off poor performance which is good naturedly commented on by his (or her) own fans

“Get out there and get ‘em Bruced” - the exhortation of a club manager that wants his (or her, ffs) players to overwhelm the opposition and paralyse their football instincts

“FFS don’t Bruce this” - speaks for itself

Dare I say it but Brucie bonus! **** knows what connotations that could infer!
