Indeed, trying to fund a 600 million overspend will take some doing.

Possibly. But pooch has asked for an increased budget and had it thrown back in his face, despite being given assurances. So I don’t think Howe would be expecting a huge war chest.

That said, he’d have a bigger budget to work with than at Bournemouth, and better quality players at his disposal. I think he’d be a manager that would suit Levy’s tight budget, because let’s face it, spurs are never going to appoint somebody like Zidane, Simeone, Ancelotti etc who would expect an immediate £200m overhaul

I wouldn't. Struggled with Norwich who's squad was certainly no worse than Bournemouths in the first season of two and he doesn't play as good football.

Ship sailed for us a long time ago though like you say :(

Don't think that would be a big enough jump tbh.

Bournemouth's signings are generally pretty bad. They have spent a lot of money and the majority haven't worked out. Not sure how good Howe would be with more money.

Agreed but a lot of managers don't get the final choice these days, particularly at bigger clubs.

You could also argue that considering hardly any (none?) of their big signings have worked then it's even more impressive the job he's done.

Only one off the top of my head who has been a success I would say is Ake.

It shows he is a good coach, but managing a big club means dealing with big signings as the fans/board want them just as much as home grown talent. As you say though I have no idea how much say he has in the transfers but he still has to be able to deal with big signings.

<laugh> Dream on Libby ... our owners are more than happy to provide their chosen man with a substantial war chest ... arguably the biggest outside the Big 6 ... so unless one of the Big 6 come calling we are likely front runners ...

I think the only non top 6 club he'd consider would be Everton tbh.

You're title win doesn't change the fact you're still a small club with no chance of ever repeating the feat.

Think it's you that's dreaming pal.

<laugh> ... so you think Everton can win it then? ... if not, what would be the attraction to Eddie Howe?

No we won't win it again ... but I doubt anyone outside of the Mancs, Pool, Chelsea and possibly Arsenal will, over the next 10 years ...

I'm a realist not a dreamer - our owners had a 5 year plan to challenge for Europe when we came up - we won the title in 2 ... they want to compete for a European spot each season and we seem to be moving / building towards that ... which is great for us Leicester fans ... the owners are spending big money to make that a real possibility, investing in good young talent ...

Our planned ground expansion will probably raise our capacity by 10k to 42k ... which we are capable of filling ... Leicester is the 10th biggest City in the UK population wise and only has one football club ... another measure of our progress as a club is that we have 3 relatively young players in the current England squad ... and Demarai Gray might be a 4th when fit again ... that is quite incredible when you look at where we were 10 years ago ...

Our progress will undoubtedly irk some fans of other clubs ... that is inevitable ... great ain't it? <laugh>

They're a much bigger club than you and are better placed to challenge. The fact he supports them would probably contribute too like ;)

They may be a much 'bigger club' depending on how you define that ... but according to Forbes we are the more valuable brand of the 2 clubs based on their 2017 survey ... we are 19th in the World .. suck it up <laugh>

I'm not sure they are better placed to challenge ... let's see how the season progresses - they deserved to beat us on Saturday ...

.... and did Eddie support Burnley?

I think he is, I don’t think he’d be able to handle the pressure of managing a big club personally.
