It's just a negotiating tactic I reckon... It wasn't that long ago that Bernie was describing his involvement with the Rs as a "hassle" and that he hoped we didn't get promoted because it would be "too much aggravation". The guy is happy to set up the F1 roadshow in places like Bahrain, but said that he couldn't make it to kick off for out title winning game at Vicarage Road because Watford is too far away... I think he's waiting for what he considers to be a good offer.

When you're talking about people with the amount of money and influence that these guys have, it's not really the cash that's important,it's something much more primal. It's about kudos,not being made a mug of ,saving face,showing respect and most importantly the perception of all of the above. For that reason, let's hope none of them gets too pissed off with the other,because ultimately that would not be in the best interests of the club,which has most to lose in the battle of the titans
