With regard to Adams' experience, I'm not as dubious as some. At 48, he's been around the game long enough and so have his assistants. His handling of the pre-season has impressed me, especially bringing Wes, Surman and Elliot Bennett back into the fold and developing an up tempo, quick passing game with pace that bodes well for the new season. The test may be how many players stay and who he brings in if they don't, but so far, so good, IMO.
To be honest he's hardly reinventing the wheel, it is a no brainer for Hoolahan, Surman and Bennett to be returned given the division (although I'd personally have kicked Hoolahan out on principle). There are many types of quick passing games (or what would be considered passing in this country). The quick bit is a peice of piss (it generally means long), the passing however is significantly harder and I'm not sure (given his radio commentary) he even knows what a passing game is. I think direct will be a better phrase, its certainly how the youth team played, long balls out into space.
There was some quite slick passing against Nice, wasn't there? I thought so anyway. As for Hoolahan, if he really wants to stay, then he deserves that chance.
