You only have to go back to the threads before his appointment, I think Spanish and I both made it quite clear who we'd have rather gone for. Mick has done well so far but were a long way from safe. One result like this doesn't fix our season anymore than one defeat sees us doomed. We are cutting it fine at the moment, the bottom sides are picking up points and we just gave Barnsley a big helping hand by letting them have Scotland.
Everyone had different opinions on who we should get in as manager, MM was not my first choice at the time but i don't think anyone else would have us in a better position. Just because someones first choice did not get the job why do they sulk, MM is IPSWICH TOWN Manager and will be for a long time to come. As for Scotland he is 33 years old although a decent enough player he is not the future of ITFC and i for one prefer to see the younger players that could be around the first team for years to come.
I have to say I was only sporadically checking this page over the weekend as I was on the sherries in Leeds for a mates birthday. Anyway, back to the weekday grind and have to say that even I have had disagreements with a few of you but I was in agreement with Spanish pre MM and I have obviously got behind the manager as I did with the past two incumbents, but naturally I still have my reservations (although I would be more than happy to be proved wrong) Spanish is more than welcome to his opinions and we have all had opinions about former managers - (for examples) ptc being very anti Keane and JWM (& others) being very anti Jewell, so it really is a merry go round as to who wants who, but Spanish's WUMs have clearly caused a stir but we all have the same common ambition of seeing Town do well even if we can't see the world through the rose tinted specs that others can
Great all round performance with Loach barely having to make a save all game, 4 goals and a clean sheet we cant ask for more than that apart from consistency. And the reason for this performance? In my ipinion it was the absence of Lee Martin so we didnt have endless possession squandered by him running up blind alleys, hanging on to the ball until crowded out by defenders, and shots from ridiculous positions rather than a simple pass to a well positioned team mate. Instead we had plenty of ball getting to the front players and well taken corners with variation, please MM dont play him anymore, just call a taxi for him.
