I would have thought so, if Sports Direct move money out the shareholders share the cost with MA, if it comes in to NUFC he gets it all, so I'd be surprised if Sports Direct doesn't pay.

Who knows. Like most things to do with the club and finances, its a guarded secret. The reality is we just don't know and we're not meant to in his eyes.

I really hope there is no more Sports Direct ****e. The small sign on the gallowgate, I could live with. The huge sign, in my opinion is cheap. However, placing Sports Direct, anywhere near the Newcastle United sign, is disrespectful, and downright wrong. I hope Mike understands this. And doesnt risk it, cos I think for a few idiots at our club, they'd take it as a reason to go beat the guy up.

Hmmm, maybe he takes a random sum (probably far smaller than what it should be) and deducts it of the debt we owe him. Or is that just wishful thinking <sigh>

If they were just going to put logos either side of the "Newcastle United" sign, then why did they need to take it down?

word on the street is that we took £47k from sports direct in sponsorship fee. that is scandalous considering arsenal got £10m for the emirates naming rights.

They will have changed the design. It'll probably be one big long plastic sign that looks cheap and rank.

I'm sure the chronicle had confirmed that the letters were being replaced like for like. Correct me if I am wrong.

It was in the Chronicle that in the latest accounts Sports Direct paid just £47,000 for the advertising at St James. Given the size and number of the Sports Direct advertising it obviously is not anywhere near what it should be. Arsenal get £10m a year for the naming of the stadium for example. So far I know there are Sports Direct signs on the Gallowgate in two places, on the entrance to the the boxes, directors box and Bamburgh Suite, it is on a majority of the advertising boards and of course 'Sports Direct.com @ St James Park' even though nobody calls it that.

Well if that is true, than that is an absolute disgrace. Call what you want about Ashley's abilities on all things football. But to use the club as nothing but a marketing tool for his sh*t sports company with no real return; is arguably the worst thing he has ever done.

The man is a crook and a disgrace.

Hasn't it recently been reported from a quote of F Shepherd that Ashley only bought NUFC as
a 'vehicle' to advertise his Sports Direct brand and he's certainly been very thorough in this
respect with no last minute no-shows to deviate him from his intended course of action...
