Cheers Yanto, You've got it spot on there Malky seems to have is head screwed on the right way, don't know a lot about Goodwillie & Gunnerson but the write ups look good as you say. Sweet.
Afternoon H. He didn't have one of his better seasons this year but I think we have missed a trick with this one, easily one of the best strikers in the division and a hell of a signing for you boys
Cheers Tricky. We are obviously so pleased to have someone back who has some passion for the club. Deep down we know he may not be the player for us he was, but I can't help thinking that pulling the Bluebird shirt on may well inspire him. It is just great to have a player like that in the modern era of greed and selfishness.
so when we go up this year, Earnie still has a year on his contract and is able to play in all 4 top flight leagues for his club, quite an achievement?
43 goals in 3 seasons (just over 100 games) with a chunk of games on the bench is hardly poor. I know teams want a 20 goal a season striker, but 15 is a good return, especially if his partner up front does the same. Not the 100+ in just over 200 games for us, but close enough.
hi Tricky I think Siam pretty much summed it up. After last season, to have a player back who is wanted and WANTS to be a Bluebird is a breath of fresh air. I understand there may have been some problems with BD (just something I heard) so being back at Cardiff might just give Earnie his full mojo back....time will tell but more I'm than happy. cheers Tricky
I know we complained about losing players for nothing, but when Joe cost us nowt, as did Mathews and Burke, with Jay only costing £300k it doesn't seem as bad as losing Earnie for nothing 3 years after shelling out £2.65M (I think it was). Happy days and one in the eye for the trees.
http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10335~2387500,00.html Part one of Earnie's interview, can't wait for the new season now!!
and who exactly have you signed this season? we might be able to talk at length about the players you've lost though . its not looking good if your players are defecting after getting promoted...
Getting Earnie back is a massive coup for Malky - fantastic news. If CB39 gets on board as well, it'd be like Xmas came early.
cardiff fans are happy to have a forest reject that they would not give him a contract then that shows the vision of cardiff. you can see the boardroom now " lets go for a cardiff favorite of .7 years ago and give the fans some hope..........good thinking boardroom..
Come on Dai,be happy for us.It's a bit like Pratley or Doris coming back to you.Unforgivable mistakes those two Dai wouldn't you agree?
There is only one place that Earnie will play his very best football in the twilight of his career , & he's there . He'll have his best season in years IMO , because he's where he wants to be
Good signing guys, but I think it's a poor Bellamy replacement rather than you getting the 2 of them. By 'poor' I mean not as headline or possibly a shirtseller and also the board admitting defeat on resigning Bellers (however what do I know). The prodigal son is returning and he's more than capable of putting a sustained bid throughout the whole season rather than costing a you fortune and is not as injury prone as CB It seems CB will not be leased to you as cheaply as he was last year as Man City seem to want some return for their CB investment and he doesn't come cheap! I can't see Earnie being anything but a success now he's 'home' and he'll possibly be more important to you this year than CB was last year (from a promotion bid perspective).
No dig there , 30 is not young . But I do believe he will be happy back at Cardiff & a happy player is a better player , no matter the age . MacKay has got it happening man . Lucky the Malaysians didn't land Shearer to sell more shirts in the far east .... now that was a poor attempt at a dig 27 !!
