By quite a country mile,
But lately we haven´t played
Effectively with style,
Personally I´d sacrifice
The style part any day,
In this league effectiveness
Is the part that will pay,
To have both all season long
Is much too much to ask,
Even table-topping teams
Find it too hard a task,
I would hate for fans to turn
Against our Adams N,
Who has breezed in with fresh air
Amongst Canary men,
But maybe his emphasis
On scoring goals galore,
Needs some slight adjustment now
As teams have found a flaw,
Packed defences we will see
They´re sure to be the norm,
When Canaries are in town
To withstand any storm,
Then when the time´s right for them
They play their sucker punch,
Then await what we can do
When it comes to the crunch,
Some are advocating now
A change of personnel,
And perhaps that is the key
To end this winless spell,
It does seem that some will start
Even if form is poor,
Which is weak from Adams N
If that is true, what´s more,
But we don´t see training days
At Colney, as they do,
So we must trust that they know
Our strongest starting crew,
No need yet for any calls
For Neil Adams´ head,
Goodwill amongst fans should still
Be in the black, not red,
But he needs to come up trumps
And fairly soon I´d say,
Or the terrace restlessness
