More people are running with the snub story, so it's looking more and more likely that this deal isn't on. Damn Bristol City, making me dream again... I hope that we can land Gayle. If we don't, we've shown every club in the league that we have money and that we're willing to use it, leading to prices being inflated even more...
Vibes are he snubbed us,wants prem football keep on looking at least our leader will spend on the right quality.
With most teams having virtually completed their new player signings any club wishing to do some clearing out, for whatever reason, must now see us as a viable destination. If the potential signing of Gayle did go as published by the press then it seems a bit strange after the comments by SL just a few days ago. I am rather hoping that our leader has seen the light and has listened to SC and his reasoning for wanting to bring in the class of players needed to survive in the Championship. If we really have dreams of reaching the Premiership in our new updated stadium then the planning right here and now is crucial to fulfilling those aspirations. I don't think we ever came close to having the infrastructure in place during the playoff year to sustain a bid for higher football and if we are to grow as a club then we need to start that next rebuild now. Gayle may have sounded like a good target but I have some doubts as to whether it would happen or indeed if it should happen.
We do NOT want a snobby bastard player who doesn't want to play for us. I already dislike him. If he comes to us for a fraction of the money that's being discussed I will expect goals galore. Then maybe I'll change my mind.
We spend 2.1 million on Kodja we had two 2-2.5 million offers turned down for two defenders. I doubt for one minute it's a case of not trying to spend the money just they are not accepting or not willing to join us.

From the BBC Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill has confirmed the Championship club have had a bid accepted for Crystal Palace forward Dwight Gayle. However, talks have not yet taken place between with the player who is yet to decide whether he wants to join City. The 24-year-old moved from Peterborough for £6m in July 2013 and scored five Premier League goals last season. "We've had a bid accepted, there is not too much to elaborate," Cotterill told BBC Radio Bristol. "I'll know more tomorrow (Thursday) if talks can take place between the young man and his advisors." Cotterill admitted he now needs to convince the player to drop a division and join his Bristol City side, who finished last season as League One champions. "I had numerous conversations with Steve Parish (Crystal Palace chairman) and we managed to come to a conclusion and now it is down to the player whether he wishes to talk to us. "I haven't done too bad before (convincing players to sign) and hopefully I can do it again. "He is a player we'd really like at this football club. He would be a good addition to our squad should he choose to join us."
Get a bloody grip RR, Panic set in after 2 games? Didn't we get out played by Oxford last year in this competition? Lets see where we are over the next 10 games before we start looking ho to blame!!
A grip,we have just been blown away feebly in the first two games easily, this is not good,as said quite happy to loose, but the way in which we have lost is not good. Lets see what the next two home games bring.
If the lad does drop down a division it means he wants to play rather than sit on the bench - would say a lot about him one way or the other
Anyone else already worried about his attitude and ego? I don't know much about him, but at £6mill it backs up SL claim of crazy money. Surely there is better out there for this sort of money?? Also at this price we should be looking at a minimum of 15 goals from him, if not 20+ if we have a good season, nothing in his past suggests he can do this. I would leave this guy well alone and keep enquiring.
To be fair, he's arguably one of their best strikers. It's just they cant play Bolaise, Gayle and Zaha upfront, they need that bit of muscle up there, especially in the prem. If he stayed with Palace I would have thought he'd get a good 20-25 games. So if cotts can convince him to come here then he would have pulled off the championship signing of the summer!
