My Dad saw him play, reckons he was very good indeed. Doesn't suggest he was the best ever though, although he quite clearly had the potential to be up there, otherwise there are a load of people making things up.

Me Dad raves more about Roger Byrne to be honest.

Hard to say who United's best ever is. Giggs is the most successful but there are many 'better' players than him have played for United.

My grandad thought Edwards would have become the best player in the world. My grandad was a West Ham fan too.

My uncle played against duncan Edwards in junior football. He again said the guy was magic and firmly believed he would have been better than pele.

All we can go on is how good those who seen him play and those who played with and against him claim he was. He played with and against a lot of players who went on to be greats of the game, and they all rated him as a great footballer.

At the age of just 18 he was already a regular in the England team, and was seen as the best player on the park by all his fellow players. Bobby Charlton said he never rated any player better than himself until he played with Duncan Edwards, and says he was by along way the best he ever played with or against.

He was a big powerful lad, was like 14 stone as a teenager, and had all the skills to run games from midfield. I think there is no doubt he would have gone on to be one of the greats of the game, and Man UTD and England probably would have won a lot more silverware with him in there side
