I can't argue with this. I'm not in central London every day but those times when I do travel across the city I have had similar experiences. The small number of people who are genuinely penniless and genuinely homeless have been overrun by scumbags (a perfect description) who beg and lie as a lifestyle choice and do very well from it. I don't know the answer to this blight, short of opening some kind of modern work-houses where street beggars who are found not to be homeless are forced to spend their days doing community service of some kind. But that would not work anyway as it would not be staffed or policed properly, and such places would just become social clubs for criminals and further pollute the surrounding neighbourhoods. Apologies for drifting off-topic. This thread is probably going to get very depressing, as we reflect on the disintegration of the society most of us recall from younger days, when the work ethic was stronger. When choosing to live on benefits or spend a worthless lifetime cheating and indulging in petty crime were not just acceptable alternative lifestyles.
I knew we’d need to adjust to this league especially as we have the 2nd lowest wage budget in the division - our summer recruitment consisted of League 1 players and Wolves reserves, and our January business was the ever young Tim Cahill BUT Since December our form reads WDWLDWLWDWDWDWWWDW. 2 defeats in 18 and to be honest we were close in just about every game before December. Got to say it, Bomber is one of the best managers we have ever had.
Me and two other boycotters are doing Dulwich v Tonbridge Angels tomorrow night. The game is being played at Tooting and Mitcham whilst Dulwich are 'locked out' of their ground.
I used to work down that way many years ago, it was not any more attractive then either. Hope it's a decent game tonight Elfs
Dulwich have been getting crowds of 2k so will be interesting to see how many traipse over to Mitcham.
