Does anyone else think that the last thing this lot deserve is an all expenses paid jolly-up in Dubai?

Seriously, that spastic Hughes took them half way around the World to all sorts of exotic places pre-season and look at all the good that did.

Wouldn't Redknapp have been better served if he took them up the Highlands and have them run up and down the hills and then into the freezing cold lakes for a swim? It might wake some of them up.

I don't like the idea of what amounts to rewarding the players for being so sh*t.

(Then again, maybe its Harry that wants a free junket somewhere sunny. SB might be onto summat with that bloke.)

It's not about punishment or reward (they can all afford decent enough holidays).

It's about team unity and belief in the collective whole.

We have as much to benefit from that as the players do.

Energy is life. I know a bloke who doesn't need to eat fu*k all. He's a Qigong master and survives on chi (energy). I could go a week without food myself without feeling hungry. Sounds crazy but its true.

Paranoid, Swords? There's definitely a case for trying to build some team spirit and morale in our current predicament. If it were pre-season or even if the weather wasn't so bad I would agree about going to Scotland or wherever - I remember reading a thing about David Moyes taking Everton to the Lake District and the galvanising effect it had on morale. But considering the weather's absolutely terrible, a trip to warmer climes is well warranted.

That's kinda my point brother. I'd prefer if he took them to a harsh climate and put them right through the ringer (within reason because we're two thirds through the season) and sort the men from the boys rather than bringing them on a cushy little break to the sunny Emirates.

Knock the lethargy out of them and make them realise how good they have it would be the way to go IMO.

Good point Matt I was on the palm last year and its full of footballers homes apparently anyway .
Sunny and Crass I would put a few bob on at least one of our squad has a place there

Fair enough. But it's a bit ridiculous, really. There have been a number of deaths in the Highlands recently, and although it would be a bit melodramatic to imagine anything like that will happen, we certainly can't risk any injuries. Sorting the men from the boys is all well and good but there are ways of doing that. Assessing the mindset of players and their attitude towards their squad mates and the club can be achieved without running them up Ben Nevis!

Dubai.......Puerto Banus in the Persian Gulf......tacky place perfect for footballers, let's hope a couple of them jump off the Burj Khalifa.

The Burj Khalifa was one of the best places I have been to Absolutely fantastic man made feat

The striker scored the Rs' only goal as they suffered a 4-1 defeat to Swansea on Saturday but is currently in need of an operation and is unable to complete 90 minutes

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has bemoaned the fitness issues which are currently preventing striker Bobby Zamora from completing 90 minutes.

The Englishman requires surgery on a long-standing hip injury but has put off going under the knife - and a subsequent predicted eight-month lay-off - in order to aid the Rs' battle against relegation.


"He probably needs an operation but that will rule him out for eight months"
And Redknapp believes the west London club would be better placed to pull themselves out of the danger zone if the 32-year-old was at full fitness.

He told reporters: "He is so vital to a lot of things we do. When he plays he’s different. He can move, hold the ball up, someone we can play up to.

"Without him we don’t have someone who can lead the line. The problem with Bobby is he can only play half a match.

"If we start him, we have to stop him at half-time. If we played him straight through he could probably manage 70 minutes.

"But stopping at half-time he seizes up then he can’t move. He can’t walk now after today’s game. He probably needs an operation but that will rule him out for eight months."

A 4-1 defeat to Swansea on Saturday left QPR seven points short of safety, and Redknapp acknowledged that keeping the Loftus Road outfit up may prove even more difficult than saving Portsmouth in 2006.

"We got 20 points from the last 10 games — and that is something we might need this time too," he added. “It’s going to be hard but it’s not impossible."
