As someone who knows a bit about computers I'd never use mine to buy drugs, or anything that could put me behind bars.
The dark web quite clearly isn't impenetrable, doubt the old bill are too interested in people buying a small amount of drugs though.
You were taking microdots in the 70s? Old fart Was operation julie in Wales? Think the beeb did a feature about the undercover copper in the last couple of years.
Yeh it wouldnt bother me tbh mate i used to get seeds sent to mine all the time, obviously not illegal but the mrs used to get parro about it due to the weed in the loft at the time
Yeah no-one gives a **** about people buying drugs over the internet. They send you a nice letter letting you know they’ve confiscated some post destined for you at which point if you’re para change the delivery address.
This. They have whole task forces on the case and the dealers still usually get ****ed over by grasses. From what I've heard it's pretty hard to track etc.
Don't disagree, it takes an unbelievable amount of resources up as well I think I read somewhere which is why they don't tend to focus on the drug side of it.
It’s almost always someone slipping up in the real world that leads to infiltrating the sites or as you say someone turning grass. Rather than technological flaws. The police who took down Silk Road would have got no conviction if Ulbricht had managed to pull the USB out of his laptop or press the off button when they arrested him. And they got him through old fashioned police work rather than cracking the technology.
Yeah very hard (time consuming/expensive) but not impossible. No matter what you do with a vpn and your ip you'll always leave a digital footprint of some kind.
I remember the silkroad forums when it was all kicking off. People losing their **** with certain vendors etc.
Yes, I am an old fart. I think one of the labs was in the New Forest, but that might have been an urban myth in Southampton at the time. One of the undercover cops wrote a book which became a bestseller. The people convicted got huge sentences as I recall. Decades behind bars in some cases, though I don't know how long they actually served.
It was always a good read, particularly when everyone was trying to figure out what was going on. Same when various exit scams have happened on other sites and everyone starts to realise the **** has hit the fan.
