Well i disagree with dropping Whitts, he is still one of the most talented players at the club, he has never been fast, but with time on the ball he can damage most defences, his passing is good, crosses exceptional, and nobody else at the club currently can bang the ball in the onion bag from 25 yards plus. Sorry but along with Marshall they are the first two names on the team sheet.
Still say it's a question of dropping Whitts or changing the system to one that suits him. Despite his undoubted skills, he's not mobile enough to run the midfield when we play with two up top and at least one out wide. An extra man in there would give him the platform to play others in. If we stick to a 4-4-2 and Manga and Morrison bring the ball out off a higher line, he might well get the support he needs in the opposition's half. Other than that, a three CB 3-5-2 system with wingbacks playing virtually in midfield could also be the answer. As it is, the present system does not bring the best out of Whitts by a long chalk.
