Stuart Pearce has suggested his team for the U21 Championship in June and has dropped JWP (man's a fool :emoticon-0181-fubar). Now I am an advocate of including some players from the senior squad if we want to do well, but not at the cost of disrupting the whole side who have shown great team spirit. I am of course completely prejudiced in favour of JWP...he is also a favourite of the manager and is the Captain so I don't think we need to worry too much. I do have some sympathy with Pearce as he was hung out to dry when he had to take a seriously depleted squad to the last tournament.

This is from the idiot who brought on David James to play up front rather than a striker when his team were losing. <doh>

Gareth Southgate knows what contribution JWP makes to that team, that's why he made him captain. I can't believe he would be stupid enough to listen to anything Psycho says.

Indeed, Danny Mills made that point about Pearce recently. The most outspoken direct criticism of an extant manager I have ever heard. The circumstantial evidence supports Mills too. Worth going back and finding if you haven't read or heard what he said. It was all over BBC Radio 5 and BBC TV.

We have some really exciting players that could go to the U21 finals, JWP is amongst the core of the U21 team. Wilshere has never delivered, he is supposed to be a creative midfielder yet Fabregas has more assists this year than Whilshere has in his entire time playing 1st team football for Arse over the last 5years. Kinda hope Morgan goes there so Wilshere can hold Chambers hand whilst they both sit on the bench

Pearce has proven he can't even teach better to get paid by the hapless media to snip at those who are good at there job

Actually, he can teach quite well, he's just been doing it at the wrong level. He should be coaching u16-u18 max. I've watched him deliver a two hour session to 16 year olds and he was good. They were in awe and listened.

I just think his style and persona doesn't work well with men and professionals. I think he'd struggle in league one of two as well.

Brilliant. Truthful and cutting in an unintentional way.
Anyone got a ref for the David James sub incident?

And then slightly lower than that.. people who criticise others for using the same message board as them!

So everyone who uses the same message board is one and the same, irrelevant of what they actually post?

Also, Godders wasn't criticising him for using this message board, but rather for the ignorance and offensiveness of his comment.

Unless I've missed something, can't see anything offensive. Godders did his usual abrasive bit, but I took it as a joke reply (though could have been taken as personal because of the word bullshit). The quote about teaching is a common one, so that wasn't offensive....though being the best at something, doesn't mean you are the best teacher and vice versa.

Anyway, I came on here to post a positive message. Hodgson says that Kane wants to play in the under 21s, which is good to hear.

Just it's pretty common for teachers to get a bad name by people who don't have a clue. Usually Sun-reader types. I can take the joke personally, because yeah I don't have a particularly difficult job. But I come from a family of teachers who work with special needs folk and the implication that this is an easy lifestyle choice is extremely wide of the mark.

Anyway, whatever, let's forget it and move on. My apologies.
