I highly doubt this is true. But the comments about age and money aren't all that to be honest. He might cost a bit in wages - but not on a transfer fee and he would only be here for a year or two - hardly a drain on resources. The benefit of us finishing higher in the league far excells that.

But it's a shocking state of affairs that we have these Hodgsonesque rumours of oldies being relied upon to bail us out of the hole FSG and Rodgers have dug for us.
