If the Tories know they are going to lose, I hope they make a law that all the WASPIES have to get £10,000 each for there pension cock up, and it can’t be revoked
Starmer would have to wipe his arse on the Union Jack, in the House, to jeopardise his chances ... ... even then he'd probably still win. This current government has its second unelected PM after they kicked out the elected one, MPs leaving the sinking ship and more plots against the leader since Guy Fawkes was around. Starmer will just say the minimum, avoid upsetting people and wait for Sunak to humiliate himself imo. They've had 14 years to make things better so promising they'll get it right, next time, just won't work.
If the Tories say they are going to honour the ombudsman’s findings I don’t think Labour have much choice but to say they are going to as well. Win win really.
Sadly they've already spoken about it and haven't said they will. They're responsible for most of this tbh. What's happened is shameful imo.
I don’t think either party have made any announcement about it unless it’s been this afternoon while I was out.
It’s the only time homeless and socialist can be mentioned in a sentence marra, the only socialists i read about are usually in their ivory towers and mansions
It almost certainly won’t imo, but sometimes you need to traverse danger in order to pass through to somewhere better.
One of my biggest concerns is the NHS ... ... which I'm hoping Labour value higher than the Tories. Anything after that is a bonus tbh. The whole country seems lost at the moment.
Sometimes what people want and need are two different things as well. Without putting a downer on the situation, I think two years into Labours next run, people will realise the answers lie outside of the Labour/Tory dichotomy.
You may well be right mate ... ... however, people are sure they want rid of this current abhorrent administration.
The biggest shaft in UK mining "More than £420m from a pension scheme for mineworkers has flowed into the government's coffers in the past three years, the BBC can reveal." "Forty years after the 1984 miners' strike, a survey commissioned by the BBC suggested almost three quarters of people living in former mining towns and villages felt they had seen little or no progress in government efforts to reduce regional inequalities." £420m could've helped. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68638865.amp
My wife, will be included in the WASPI payment, but is quite adamant that she will not get any payment. I did a quiz on Friday, and the acronym WASPI was one of the questions. I just read the pay rise for those in the house of Lords. Daily pay will be £360 for signing in, plus £100 daily towards hotel expenses, that's £2,300 a week. The article said that on an average they attended 150 time a year £345k times that by approximately 800 members £276m. Good news, Starmer wish to abolish archaic establishment, bad new is, he has put no bone on his comments.
