Apparently they were manning the gates and allowing the suitcases to be wheeled past full of explosives.... I mean boooozzze
This just gets funnier and funnier. "Operation Save Big Dog". Could only come from the playing fields of Eton
So Operation save Bonko is about to happen... Sack everyone who works at no 10 (not a bad idea, as long as they are not replaced) Defund the BBC that will make Murdoch/Sky happy. Get the armed forces to sink a few migrant boats in the Channel... hmm red meat to Daily Heil. Anybody think of anything else (other than hiding as he is atm).
He is backed into a corner (or fridge if he can find one) and is lashing out blaming everyone and anyone but himself. Even blaming the BBC. Absolutely disgusting that he is prepared to get rid of an institution of over a century like the BBC in an attempt to "save" his job. He has gone even further down in my estimation if that is possible. Disgraceful.
That's unusually direct from ClassicDom. I wonder if he's caught wind that it isn't going to have the result he wants.
It’s worrying the attack on the BBC. ‘Criticise our inadequacy at a cost’. The most right wing corrupt dictatorial government I’ve known.
I'm wholly opposed to defunding the BBC and have signed a petition (not something I'd usually do) aimed at getting the government to rethink the decision. Its not that strange that they've started to question its relevance though as people's viewing habits, and their methods of absorbing news, have changed so much in the last c. 20 years. Is it fair to make people who don't utilise it pay for it? There is a reasonable argument that it isn't, even if I disagree with that argument on a personal level. Its interesting that this is being perceived as retribution for the BBC not supporting the government in light of previous discussions on here about it being a pro-Tory broadcaster. On that note, here's an interesting article that further highlights how subjective analysis of BBC bias is. https://www.theweek.co.uk/100501/is-the-bbc-biased
Must say I’m a lover and defender of the BBC. I learn a lot from radio 4 and various documentaries and underground shows. I’m not an entertainment type. I think it adds a lot and the radio 4 stuff I hear shows many perspectives. It’s interesting that article. I follow far right narrative as part of my work and I know far left people who post stuff on social media and it always strikes me how similar their argument is about the BBC. This government have definitely gone for ‘rightening’ the narrative though - in the school curriculum and by pushing the media - regular loans about Channel 4 being an example. There is a danger that there is a crater separation in the media of left and right which I think would be unhealthy. We really need something objective.
