Na mate - I was giving examples of the can't be arsed culture you were expressing concerns about - if those at the top can't be arsed it sets a damning example is all.
It's still not an excuse to sack off your own job and responsibilities. Which I'd wager a great deal of the NHS bureaucracy did. Up and down the chain if you want to fix it. Up only if you want to score political points.
The Covid enquiry seems to be a series of highly paid people, in positions of power, passing the buck and all using the same excuse ... ... 'sorry sir, a bigger boy told me to do it' And, as if by magic ....
A lot being made of this 90% figure. It doesn't mean that 90% would still be alive today, unfortunately. It means they'd have caught it later and died. If COVID is what kills you off it doesn't matter when you catch it. I suppose whether it's better to go first wave or live a year in abject terror (as many people in the age bracket most likely to die from it did, and some people still do) and then die of it anyway.
Look as if MP Peter Bone, may not face an election in Wellingborough, due to Northants North councill that it's not their responsibility. You have to remember he is half Greek, even so, it is funny.
I am eagerly waiting for one of these twats coming out with the old chestnut. Namely "It would have been worse under Jeremy Corbyn"
The Covid enquiry is throwing up some pretty shameful behaviour and buck passing. Those lecturing us on how to behave, and therefore save lives, were blithely ignoring their own advice. Johnson was partying, Hancock was out having an affair and Cummings was off on a family holiday. But what's more shameful is that, in March when the pandemic had already started, we were allowing holiday flights to the two worst affected parts of Europe, Italy and Spain, who had their own infections in the thousands, hundreds of deaths and lockdown restrictions. It wasn't even the government who stopped the flights, it was the airlines who realised it was insane to be flying backwards and forwards to heavily infected countries. Even then the government were allowing people to arrive from all over the world ... even the Chinese! I couldn't believe it was happening at the time ... ... it looks even crazier looking back on it now.
I bet if you sit down too hard on the chairs you get a blast of all the farts drilled into them over the centuries.
