That's my problem tbh. I've never bothered with political threads before but this isn't at all funny and after Cummings, etc, it's just awful. Thousands have died and people have been unable to be with loved ones when they've died. To know that the PM and his cohorts are laughing at us, for years, just doesn't feel nice. Perhaps Johnson would be a cracking PM for good times but he just doesn't fit at the moment. He won't recover, doesn't have the depth, and will be badly remembered.
If it hadn’t been for Brexit and Covid he’d have been gone long ago, but can you think of anybody in their right mind who would want that job. I said in their right mind
Weird thing about Boris is he wins elections. Won London twice and a landslide general election in 2019. If he can get through the next few months, who knows...?
That's what these people don't understand or pretend to not understand... Our votes weren't about Boris. They were votes for democracy because at the time Labour and Lib Dems were doing everything that they could to overturn our democratic vote. They were totally disrespecting the electorate. BJ said he'd get Brexit done and he was good to his word, in fairness. If an election was to take place tomorrow, I wouldn't even vote in it.
The most popular TV shows are I'm a celebrity, Come Dancing and Bake off ... ... Boris is a mixture of all three so a bit of a shoo in tbh.
Both sides give us extreme versions of their remain/leave. The truth was probably somewhere in-between.
I studied it and listened night after night because it was important to me ... ... the whole campaign, on all sides, was beyond ridiculous. When you ask people, now, what they voted for they usually say that they didn't want to be governed by a bunch of buffoons telling them what to do, controlling their movements and poking their noses in the trough ... oops
There seems to be lots of unhappy people getting rather angry about this. Obviously I can't speak for them, only myself, but I was well aware at the time, of people who failed to follow the rules about get togethers as strictly as the Law suggested they should. Their business as far as I was concerned. It was enough that I followed them, more or less. I had my laugh at the foolishness of Dominic Cummings, just like nearly everyone else. but his case did throw up that The Police were not particularly pro-acive in enforcing these rules. One article I read at the time stated something along the lines of, 'If we had prosecuted every infraction, we would, all of us, have been attending court all day, every day, till next Year.' This from an unidentified 'Senior Police Officer'. Perhaps I don't expect as much from our Political Masters as other do. Boris is a buffoon, only elected because the alternative was even more unpalatable. This is not any sort of discription you would apply to anyone you were going to respect. I see few current senior MP's who stand out as being shining examples of honesty and integrity. And I do sympathise with those who suffered because they followed the rules and feel bitter towards those who didn't. It's hard not to feel some satisfaction that, in this case at least, some of those that didn't are paying for it, not with a trivial fine, but with loss of very well paid jobs.
