Where was I 'joining in'? The entire build up is still in the thread for everyone to see.

And anyway, all I do is post about Johnson, right? Why would I join in?

Feel free to back up your claim with evidence any time. It's about page 468.

    Ok cheers.
Sure we can agree the last 3 PMs have been utter disasters for the country and public services have been decimated by them?
However just as frightening is the influence far right zealots like Braverman seem to have over the current PM.
We need a clear out ASAP imo.

We need someone, anyone with some kind of vision. Someone who can think beyond the 24hr news cycle and see where they want the country to be in ten years time. We're rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic at the moment regardless of who's in government. This lot are terrible, the other lot are uninspiring and there's nothing to suggest they'd be any better yet. How it gets solved is a far more important thing to talk about than the endless points scoring. Encouraging that is how the entire political class keeps themselves where they are.

Truss was certainly a disaster. The jury remains out on Sunak but he seems to be trying hard. Johnson is Johnson and despite the breaking of his own rules, he was in charge during the vaccine roll out, which, although he had little direct involvement, was pretty impressive.

I think to assess the performance of any Prime Minister, you have to view them through a variety of prisms, including world events, prevailing attitudes in society, the world economic situation, the country's economic state, and you have to consider the political starting point of the person doing the assessing.

On top of all that, I strongly believe that a lot of things that people criticise governments for are actually things that governments have little to no control over and are really societal issues.

Insinuating people on here are racists.

You only ever make vague snide comments because you don't have the courage to actually call someone out as a racist ...

... or more likely because you know you can't back up what you've said so resort to innuendo.

I think JLR were deciding between Somerset and Spain. Probably takes longer to get from Blyth to Birmingham given the roads here...

Being bought out by an Australian company isn't it?
Is it really the government to blame if a private company goes in to administration though?
Edit: I see they were supposed to receive some kind of government funding. Why didn't they get that?

I was being perhaps tongue in cheek but JLR are getting serious funding - it just seems a bit bizarre that this was allowed to go to the wall after giving it such a fanfare. I know when they have looked at the overall levelling up fund the region that has suffered the most and got less than they should is the NE. Very sad we always seem to be at the bottom

Looking through the stats it seems like Nissan is a big factor. We've already got reasonably high productivity.

They had an agreement whereby £100m taxpayers money would be given matched to any private investment they raised. They failed to raise any private investments probably because no one trusted them to deliver a marketable product.

So you're saying you've never implied people are racist on here.

And I imagine you'd also claim you've never said anything racist.

    Is that about right?
