Projection on a biblical scale. You could probably find on one hand the amount of conversations I've started about Johnson. I've taken part in lots, of course. Because we can't do a day without him here. He has to be shoehorned into almost every exchange for some reason, despite him achieving or ruining very little during his very unremarkable tenure.

Hmm, obviously could be considered a little bit naughty.

However by my poor maths, some 1800 ear buds could be distributed to those working in the HoC and HoL instead of paying for Bonko's legal fees for being a liar and breaking Covid19 restrictions.

    Matter of scale or principle?

Personally, I think if she's entitled under the rules to claim such things on expenses then she can fill her boots.

I just think that when people are being criticised for something, it's important to make clear what they're being criticised for. In this case, it wasn't that she claimed the cost of the earbuds that she was being criticised for but the perceived hypocrisy after she'd effectively criticised other people for claiming things on expenses. To suggest that the criticism was for the former is misinformation.

The Johnson legal fees thing is a different matter. If he's not happy with the tax-payer funded legal team that he's been assigned then he should be paying for the legal representatives that her prefers.

There are lots of days without a mention but he's just been on the front page of every paper so people are talking about him, you included ....and this is a thread named after him.

Get real man, you always have to make things ten times more complicated than they are. Your continual assertions about syndromes and meltdowns are ridiculous. I come on here to take the mickey while I'm posting on other threads ...

... you're almost exclusively on here, at all hours, and actually started your day talking about Boris Johnson <laugh>

    Yes, I'd say someone's obsessed.

I suppose we could say hypothetically if he had the option to get a top class lawyer for half the price of the well known celebrity lawyer and didn't then it would be comparable.

Johnson's lawyers are serving a parliamentary function though, presumably, which is why he seems to be entitled to them.

What parliamentary function do a set of air buds serve? I suppose you could catch up on Joe Rogan while Starmer is speaking in PMQs

well that’s absolute tosh. His detractors have been proven correct - his fans have been shown to be gullible fools at best - most have seen it now and deserted the completely busted flush.

Desperate posts like the above are sad but now amusing since the oaf has been removed by his own side and can’t further damage the country thankfully.

I started my day disappointed at the lack of proof of yet another set of bullshit accusations against me.

Political issues are complicated and discussion in good faith requires a level of detail, no matter how much you hate the person involved and immediately leap to the presumption of guilt. It's not a football team.

    What’s the thread title?
Sorry I’ve not posted much and might be missing the point of the board - is this about the current PM?

I think the thread title is a little misleading. It has evolved into more of a general politics discussion than a specifically Johnson-focused debate.

If you want Johnson-bashing, I think that's a different website.

Ok - fortunately the latest unsurprising revelations about the pisstaking during lockdown are current enough.

    Cheers for heads up.

You mean this kind of thing,
Smug has mentioned on more than one occasion, the Brexit vote was a racist vote. What I said was clearly a play on his words.

He's currently headline news mate and there are weeks without him being mentioned on here.

Exile is never off this thread, automatically defending his hero, he has a Boris man-crush so you'll have to excuse him.

It became the general politics thread over time. Plenty of other far more interesting subjects covered than yesterday's man and plenty more interesting things going on right now, but some can't let it go. It's like a time capsule. Come here in ten years, guess what some posters will still be trying to score points over.

That's between you and Saff. Not sure how I ended up in the firing line over it, or why you would top it off by calling me something that got you a week's ban.

We're doing the man-crush thing again are we? I thought you believed he wasn't my type. According to you and the post you got banned for, I prefer them younger. Which demonstrates exactly what type of person you are.

Can I just ask, do you have any mirrors in your house.

People post about your hero to see how quickly you'll bite ...

... they haven't invented a device accurate enough to record the time <laugh>

You think you're defending his good name don't you.

Why not just do what you advise others to do and ignore Boris posts, but you can't can you <doh>
