ok 34 of his 93 appearances have been from the bench. His stats a really impressive, way better than I thought they we going to be. I was just basing my opinion on the way he plays and my opinion on that. Really good stats, we helped develop a really good player there.

Not really, you're entitled to your opinion marra, For all his Goals at Soton I've never rated Lambert. There's so much more to being a striker than scoring goals in this day and age, in a world where most goals tend to come from all over the pitch. Movement and response to instruction and tactical changes, adaptability and teammate understanding and the such like can't be measured with stats. Stats can help build an image but never tell the whole story. There's always an element of opinion to anything. Could we have ever got Welbeck permanently? I don't think so. Had we managed to sign him permanently would his stats be just as good for us? I'm not sure about that either.
Shame, Danny and Gyan looked the real deal on occasions but so have Whicks and Fletch, if Gus can fit them into a better system than he seems hell bent on, we might all be surprised.
