Darren Bent wouldnt score 20+ in the modern systems. Fletcher is as good as Gyan and Wickham is as good as Welbeck was when he was here.
20 goals a season is bloody good enough for me mate, regardless of systems.. That's like trying to say SKP 30 goals in 99/00 is irrelevant. Goals are goals at the end of the day and strikers score em! Apart from fletch at present we are quite light on em.. The point I was trying to make is I feel like we are going backwards in that department that's all.

Disagree on both counts. Especially the Wickham/Welbeck point. Welbeck scored 6 league goals in 26 appearances. Connor has scored 7 in 54. Welbeck had a 4.3 against Wickham has 1 in 7.7 and both were utilised on the left and in the middle. Besides Welbeck is a way way way better all round footballer to boot

To be fair mate he killed it with us and as much as you & anyone else thinks he's ****.. The bloke poked em in years ago quite freely. It disturbs me that this '****' player has still scored more goals then our current crop... Fletch is our no1 no doubt, but what if he gets injured? Sure Wickham could do a job but what if he gets injured? Jozy our main striker in the PL imagine that? We are light as on half decent strikers at present & it frustrates me that ES had quality strikers for us 4 years ago but today we have championship at best bar fletch
Miles mate, we were only ever helping to develop a much bigger talent than we could obtain. Worked out well as we had a decent season and the lad performed. We we're never going to sign him. I've fixed the quote boxes btw

Welbeck's about as prolific now as he has ever been. He didn't suit the system we wanted him to play at United, because he couldn't force his way past RVP and Rooney. When it came down to it, when RVP and Rooney were injured, he went missing. A team like us has very little use for him, especially when we bring in Falcao as well. He suits the system more at Arsenal, he works well in a pacey team, passing, moving, sprinting etc. He's proving himself to be a good PL player now, and good luck to him for that.
ok mate, he's made 93 league appearances and scored 21 goals giving him a 1 in 4.4 games and he's played a total of 40.8% of his games out of his natural position.
