MON is impatient to have money in his pocket now to get his own signings. He has put out a subtle warning to SB that he wants an offer for Campbell and now he has upped the stakes with a subtle threat about the future of Elmo. I can only think the delay on City's part is that the Allams only want loans this window (as announced) and SB is struggling to get the cash.

I warned about this scenario on another thread without being taken seriously, but is it a coincidence that January is here and again questions are arising about our owners willingness to buy?
Ok the Allams are forking out for Meyler, but historically teams that get promoted invest a lot more than £1.5million in January to subsidise a final push. I hope I'm wrong and the owners release the funds Bruce needs to complete the job.

Come on mate, we all want the deals done, but i dont wanna see us getting done over on the deals either. We have to be canny, no players worth breaking the bank over.
Call me on any spellings or postrofees and ill block ya.............

'Who you all said was ****' was it all of us AKCJ or was it just afew people who said it, ive never know anyone exaggerate as much as you!!

You're right, there is a fine balance, but January for promotion contenders is different. Teams at the top take a gamble and significantly strengthen during this window. By February you can bet the likes of Leicester and Cadiff in particular will be a lot stronger and if we want an automatic place we need to do the same. (it's "I'll" BTW )

I think some on here are looseing sight of what is really going on here.

Elmo is a boro player.
Brady is a manu player.

Elmo came here for 1 season only on loan.
If it worked out AND we get promoted, we have a option to sign him perminently for a agreed fee.
Thats IF boro want rid.
There is nothing to say o'neil won't tell us to pish off and stick him back in there squad for next season.

Brady was here last season and imo, he was too raw and not worth the hype.
He went back to manu and played 3 months in there reserves as a wing back.
That has totally changed him and this season he is a reverlation.
The first thing in Joycey and Fergies mind is can this kid make it in the manu first team.
If the answer is yes then we have no fooking chance of signing him.

The lads may be wearing our shirt but we don't own them.
They are hear for experence and gametime / development on behalf of there parent club first and foremost.
Everything else is irelivant

Funny that and I always thought he belonged to Sunderland<doh>

I'd agree with Chazz, and I think it's obvious what MON is up to here. However, I think Bruce is a little more canny that than!

Also Craig, whilst you're picking up on typos etc, may I refer you to a post on another thread (one of yours I believe?). In the context you have used the word, 'Blackmailed' is just one word and not spelt with a hyphen! Thank you! ( just a wind up mate nothing personal)

I'm fairly certain this is O'Neils way of getting us to deal on Elmo early. Thus freeing up funds for him.

This is exactly how I see it. MON knows what he's doing and this translates as "Elmo has done well for you, you know you need him, I don't want him, I need the money to buy players I do want, now either **** or get off the pot".

hehe I will be chuckling all the way down to Avenue about that one.
