http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...return-replacing-Jimmy-Floyd-Hasselbaink.html So Hollaway it is then. Not my first choice but anything is better than Dim Tim Sim.
It's rather ironic that Ian Holloway is a Don Logan doppelganger, do I want him as the next QPR manager ...
Good question Nines - Mexico has the better climate and the attraction for Canada for middle aged white males is gone now that they have their guy in the White House. Could be a bunch of liberal minded types who think there would be less hassle crossing the border back the US if they want to go home
They should take a leaf out of the books of all the British expats in Spain - they strive to learn the language and assimilate don't they
As our only regular US contributor, do you think people were genuinely voting for an anti-establishment candidate? Or was it the "America first" populism? Should the Dems have gone with Sanders?
You don't count Derwood - you are from the Bush. Although I can't recall if you are a US citizen now?
US and UK I can vote but voted for neither as they are both are crooks. He was elected by middle and the south because of jobs, guns and Obamacare. I don't think Sanders would have beaten him although Joe Biden probably would have. I am more of a Conservative than anything but would have voted for Joe. I don't comment on QPR much as I don't see enough of them to give a real opinion except to say I'm happy when they win and pissed when they lose.
I know its the baiting of women/minorities that put people off him over here - but a look at what few policies he's put out are anything but Reganite Republicanism, and would find support in left of centre parties in the UK. Tarriffs for chinese products (Tories vetoed that for the EU), increased public spending on infrastructure, opposition to globalisation and TTIP free trade, support for native industry against offshoring. Would some of them even get through congress given that Reagan is the high priest for some of the GOP?
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens, the majority of politicians say one thing to get elected the do the polar opposite or nothing at all once they are.
It was very much about shaking up the system. On the one hand, you had a candidate who had been firmly entrenched as an "insider" against a wild card. Every time he opened his mouth, his own people held their breath wondering what he would say next. The surprise to me was that so many people were ready to take a leap off a cliff into the unknown, rather than settling for more of the same type of safe government. I guess I underestimated my neighbors' discontent with the status quo.
