Yes the result last night was disappointing - can't get away from that. However, we know (and DM knows) that we still need 2-3 players. Let's wait for them to come in before we pass judjement (and as CJS rightly says lets look at it after 6 league games, not one cup game). Don't forget that Cunningham was also missing which had an impact on other positions not just LB. Saturday will be tough - I do want to see a reaction from the players - their work rate has to exceed Forest's - as long as they do that I'll be happy
No over reaction Prem, just having a passionate rant, nothing aimed at any individual, we pay good money to watch that shi'te, and are entitled to our opinions, and if you were honest we have been shi'Te, the last game we won was against a youth team, yet some thought we were the championships answer to Barcelona. Forest will destroy us on last nights form. However we must remain optimistic and positive that things can only get better.
FFS do we really care ? I don't. The LC is a white elephant of a competition and has been for years. If your team is involved it only really gets interesting if you reach the quarter finals or go beyond that stage. The number of Championship clubs being knocked out by lower opposition speaks volumes for what teams think of the LC.
Hey Bristol fans! Gills fan here! Firstly, it was a delight to visit quite a nice ground, rather than the usual barnet or accrington stanleys 'stadium'. This guy that keeps saying 'there's a reason why we're a 4th divison club'. Yes, there is, its because we have a chairman, that won't put any money into the club. He'll sell our player for 2 mil, and we won't see any of the money. However, under our new manager, we played superb last night. We passed it really well, which we never see, normally we just play hoofball! After yesterdays performance quite frankly I wouldn't have known who was the Championship side, you scared me though when you scored in added time at the end! Anyway good luck for this season,!
I agree that we shouldn't panic after one poor performance. However, it does highlight something which I think should concern us for the season ahead. We all know that Del has a thin squad and that there is little decent cover in some positions. However, he does seem to make some truly bizarre selections when forced to shuffle the team. 1) Cunningham was missing so rather than give young Bryan a run he moves Skuse AND Foster out of their best positions. 2) No CB to replace Amougou. Del states we need a right footer to play with Fonts. So he picks Tanglefeet who is left footed and probably the worst defender at the club. I like Del but this IS worrying me. Also, the failure to push forward and create chaces that we saw last season was continued last night. We had 3 shots - I looked at the stats in the Derby game at half time and Derby had taken 16 shots - 15 on target. It isn't entertaining for the fans and isn't bringing results so what the hell???
This is not a rant and I not having a go at anyone at Ashton Gate. BUT I am totally fed up with our club being knocked out of cup competitions by lower league opposition. It makes no difference that other Championship sides suffered the same fate - it simply means that every season we get a totally demoralising defeat, normally at home, against teams who are two leagues below us yet show a hunger to win that we seem to be incapable of. I WANTED DEREK McINNES FROM THE MOMENT I FIRST SAW HIS NAME MENTIONED. HIS RECORD AS A PLAYER AND MANAGER SHOWS THAT HE IS ONE OF LIFE'S WINNERS SO I HOPE HE STAYS AT CITY LONG ENOUGH TO HELP US BECOME A BETTER CLUB AND TEAM. However, I am somewhat mystified at the team selection yesterday. Like others have highlighted, why play Skuse at right back instead of Foster and Bryan at full-back? If I was James Wilson I would be asking for a transfer or a season long loan elsewhere. He is better quality than other central defenders so why is he not picked? Anderson was a constant nuisance to us when he played for Forest yet he gave preference to a wide man who has little pace, can't cross a ball accurately and cannot hit a barn door with a football from 10 yards. I has taken us 4 years to get another left back to challenge /replace Jamie Mac. Will it take us another four years to get a new "brick ****house" centre back and a striker to replace Maynard? I'm not moaning for the sake of it. I am just deperately disappointed that the new dawn is quickly becoming a false dawn. I hope that on Saturday, they will prove me wrong with a result at Forest. And I'll be in the Atyeo against Palace and Cardiff to support whichever players are on the pitch. But after 63 seasons of being a City fan, I am too realistic to expect anything but another more defeats to follow last evening's debacle!
All fans should read and digest the last 2 comments from RobinUnreliant and Cidered Abroad. We got out of Jail last season. Lansdown and McInnes between them have known since Christmas we need a new Spine. And done sweet FA about it.
Not convinced by James Wilson.. As Redprintt says we do need a new spine, hopefully it'll be sorted sooner rather than later. Could be worse though, we could be Portsmouth...
GillinghamFC Thanks for those kind comments, and likewise good luck to you for the coming season. I'm sure you'll do well under Mad Dog We also look forward to you doing the double over our poor relations at the Mem...!

when our leader said we got outfought and outplayed with a league 2 team in turmoil (the racial situation) it's a bit worrying, once again i don't think we have strengthened enough this summer, we still need 3 players in 3 days, and it won't happen..
"yet some thought we were the championships answer to Barcelona" Who was that then? I cant remember one poster saying we would finish anything above mid-table?
Oh silly me.. ffs give it a rest dude, you know what I meant or are you just gobby and argumentative, was referring to the people who were saying how we were performing in pre-season.
Gobby and argumentative? Like I said no one compared us to Barcelona, thats what the Sags do with there team. I cam smell gas on you, now why dont you **** off and stamp up and down like a spoilt ****in child on your own board.
My Dad died in 1991, so that wont be possible. Spoilt want it all now brat... We know your gas. so **** off and cry about them.
zzzzzzz is that all you got, "we know?" you know fk all, anyway, not gonna do this with some kid who thinks hes a tough guy on the end of a screen, think what you want, i think yer a mouthy kunt but what do I know.
