No need to BCC I agree with you entirely, the difference is, is that I knew him best when he played cricket at Hull CC and when my dad was captain (so I knew him in slightly different circumstances). Around players he is a little less vocal and forthright. Having said that he's got worse since he started broadcasting and doing Sportstalk. I'll pm you with something I don't want to put up here!

    Chesterfield match.
The young lad shoved a mic in my face and I waved him away.
    He was a tad abrupt.
I thought it was OK maqazine and I didn't look my best.

I interviewed Burnsy for a radio interview for a university project and he was really helpful. Gave me a ton of tips and gave a great interview.
I've heard people say that Mike White has a large ego and is a bit above himself.

Last year I was lucky enough to spend a day at Radio 2 with Chris Evans and his team. His producer Helen is from Hull. Chris is an absolute master of the mic. I was pretty much in awe! Seamless production too.

I really enjoyed the City annual quiz on WHCR which was broadcast a couple of weeks ago. In terms of Humberside Gwilym is terrible!

my argument is more about the social definition of news and the re-definition the media give it to make the audience think it is indeed NEW! For the umpteenth time, its an a production line, they are just filling spaces around adverts. After all has there ever been a day when the opening line has been: "well there is no news today" Apart, of course from holidays etc when obviously news doesnt happen!!!

You know exactly what I mean Lincoln. Hell I studied on the same course you teach about 150 years ago and I used to make a nice living as a small time 'spin doctor'

    "Good Friday, April 18th, 1930
BBC radio news showed rare maturity
The news reporter said something that these days they wouldn't say
'Good evening, There is no news today'"

Though it was a Good Friday, which may or may not count as a holiday.

news doesnt happen on holidays cos the journos are all off! why do you think it a was a virtual teaboy (sorry cathy wigham) who cobbled together the crap article about the £6 million that Setve Bruce has now spent last Wednesday after the Meyler/Brady release. Wednesday is Phil Buckingham's day off!!
