When I become as big a one as you I will worry. Still getting confused about what being taller means?
Hull's ****, England's **** blah blah blah. How on earth can you be bothered to post the same things over and over for years?
OK England is better than everywhere else. Hull is the best place in England and therefore better than Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Munich…Just need to be careful now and keep a lookout for men in white coats approaching up the drive. if people realised other places did something’s better things might improve. Was in Paragon station at 7pm on Sunday and nowhere open couldn’t even get a bottle of water. I am sure that wouldn’t be the case overseas.
I'd wager there's quite a few regional/remote railway stations in Europe where you wouldn't be able to get a bottle of water at 7pm on a Sunday. Don't know when you were last in Europe Castro but it has changed over the last 20 years, and not often for the better.
Hull is regional and remote? I’ll compare it to Ghent, a city with a population the same as Hull’s, where quite a few from City stayed in Europe when we played there. Somewhere I first went 50;years ago and consider underrated and overlooked,Don’t think you would have been unable to get a bottle of water at 7pm there.
Istanbul. Population 15 mill. Densely populated. 24 hour well functioning metro. Barcelona. Population 5.5 mill. Densely populated. 24 hour metro certain days. Hull & ER. Err ...... Never mind the big culture differences, comparisons are just non-sensical
Ghent 260,000. Where you can get a bottle of water on the station at 7 pm. Acun will be disappointed he thinks Hull is like Istanbul. London, larger than Barcelona, doesn’t have the metro set up certain days. London doesn’t have the transport choices of Hamburg population less than a fifth of London’s size. Leeds doesn’t have the set up of Amsterdam which is the same size. It isn’t just Hull behind comparable places. Of course it would be too late to introduce these things now as lots of places will shut before long.
I remember I had to fly to Madrid to a supplier to pick up some documents and my flight got in at 10 pm. He said he would meet me and stay at his house overnight, and I had a flight at 7am the next morning out to my next destination. We got to his house at 12am, and he said right we are just going to have dinner now, I got t bed at 2.30 only to get up at 5 am. But he said eating at midnight was normal for them.
At 7pm on a Sunday night, of course Hull is regional and remote, it's just geography! Ghent is 40 or 50 miles from both Brussels and Antwerp, there's no comparison at all!
I'm currently in Hartlepool. There is a Spoons open so I've eaten and had a pint. But there's no one else here and nothing else open. I doubt the station has trains never mind bottles of water. And it's hoying it down like buggary. And thundering. And lightening. Tales of Madrid, Amsterdam and even Ghent are all rubbing it in to be honest.
