We had virtually the same number of shots on goal as them, but failed to take our chances. Would like us to try and sign Mark McNulty from Sheff. Utd. during the transfer window, as I believe he is currently out of favour at Bradford City where he has been on loan. We need a natural goalscorer, as it's not really working with Smith and Hunt up front, and Conor Chaplin appears to be out of favour with Paul Cook.
I wondered if this game would be too tough for us - they have a Lg 1 squad in the main and so we need to know that is what the level above is like. Ferguson is no dummy as a Manager either so at best I'd hoped for a draw. It sounds like we played ok and just didn't put the chances we had away. Donny are odds on the league winners so this defeat needs to be taken in that context. Put it to bed and move on to the next one.
