I said I am probably being unfair on him <ok> He has never been prolific and I can't say he inspires me with hope at the moment, he looks overweight, doesn't win as many headers as his height suggests and I wouldn't bet on him netting 20 in a season.

Lol sorry Davy, but why are you surprised that Elland suggested Bellusci as one of the 5 nominated penalty takers.

Shouldnt you be more surprised that he named Mowatt in that 5, given that Mowatt was taken off after 75 minutes and replaced by Byram.

At least Bellusci was still eligible to take a penalty, so I think Elland deserves some credit for at least having 80% of his nominations actually available to take a spot kick :D

He also said Everton took Koone (sp) off at half time on Saturday - even though he scored in the 86th minute <whistle>

Hmm not too concerned with losing especially with penalties and a man down for most of the game. Here's some match ratings from my armchair

Turnbull - 7.5 - Did well enough, none of the saves he made I wouldn't expect him to make. Couple times pushed it out into semi-dangerous areas but nothing came of them. Could argue he shoulda saved the penalty in the first half having guessed the right way.
Berardi - 7.5 - thought he did well, I'm actually really starting to warm to him. good player and has that spot nailed down.
Bellusci - 8 - Probably my leeds man of the match. Strong, committed and deceivingly quick. Looked like he has learned to attack the ball in the air as well. Well played.
Cooper - 5 - Poor. Haven't changed my mind since we signed him, not good enough imo. even for backup. Good in the air but that is it, doesn't close down well enough and they seemed to glide past him on more than one occasion.
Taylor - 5.5 - Another poor game I thought. Did have a couple of pretty good moments (slide tackle in the box was inch perfect). But again poor in possession and the guy he was marking looked their most dangerous, starting to get quite worried we have no backup here.
Wootton - 2 - Shocking in every sense. Terrible tackle for their penalty, terrible in possession, pretty much always out of position and just jogging back when they looked threatening (the amount of times I saw Mowatt and Murphy sprint past him to put pressure on their player was stupid). Also why the **** was he not challenging for headers all game? Needs to be shipped out, not good enough. Less of a liability as a backup for RB.
Cook - 5 - Even before the sending off I thought he was poor in possession to be honest. In a good position for the goal but other than that lost the ball in promising places a few times. Not his normal composed self. Don't actually think it was a sending off, won the ball and it wasn't a typical studs up challenge as his toes were pointing down, maybe some of the studs under the toe was showing but seemed harsh, maybe I'm bias.
Mowatt - 7 - Looked threatening before the sending off and afterwards was quite disciplined and held shape quite well. Think he may become a major part of our squad going forward at this level.
Doukara - 4 - Touch was really off and when he attempted to beat his man he just lost the ball. Didn't challenge for headers. Did get back and help Berardi a few times, is playing in an unfamiliar position but its the only one he's gonna be able to force his way into the team. Has a lot of ability but struggles to use it effectively, I still think there's something there.
Dallas - 6.5 - Dangerous when on the ball but a bit anonymous at times. Covered well for Taylor and could tell when he went off. Good player imo. The team needs to utilise him more, looks better when we play proper football I think (like the burnley game). Here we weren't passing the ball round well enough but we did have 10 players.
Antenucci - 7 - Did well when he had the ball at his feet, could've passed the ball a bit more but he creates scoring chances imo. Not sure he did enough to force his way into the team. Didn't compete for 50/50 balls enough and doesn't even attempt to win the ball in the air. Only time he did we got a goal from it.
    Subs:
Wood - 4.5 - His touch was off. Isolated for parts, his hold up wasn't good enough though. I think he still isn't fit, that weird formation at the end didn't help. Shocking penalty
Murphy - 7 - Played well when he came on, exactly what we needed. Kept shape well and good in possession, didn't appear to have not had a pre-season. Dunno whether he'll be ready for Sunday but it'd be handy with Cook's suspension now.
Byram - 5 - Didn't really work out for him either, again that weird formation didn't help him. Not good enough to play in the middle, out wide he can be quite threatening. Another shocking penalty.

Its disappointing to have not won but I think this game will have told Rosler a lot. Like Wootton is useless particularly in midfield. And past the first team we are still weak. Don't think we need to overreact though.

With cellino in post the head coach is utterly irrelevant. The players know it, many of the fans know it and cellino knows it. Rosler has apparently swallowed the cellino biscuit and is saying all the right things. " Mr cellino is in charge I just coach the team". So when the bloke who is only here to "coach the team" fails to win all but one of the pre season games (sorry they are a performance indicator), gets a draw at home and then loses in a cup against lower league opposition cellino will already be sharpening the axe.... Is there any be here thinking if we fail to beat Bristol and the wendies that Rosler will still be here?

Do I want us to win? Of course I do.
    Am I confident? No
Who would be to blame if we don't get at least three points from our next two games (less than that and Rosler is toast)?

    1. Cellino... He dictates the direction of the club and signs off on staff
    2. Rosler.... He will have been fired too soon but he knew the score when he came, and wouldn't have got the team playing well enough
    3. The players.... Sorry there are too many that are rank average and we don't have enough real quality. Still sure Byram is leaving, and I don't see Cook as the new Messi.

We are no better than last year. Younger yes, but no better.

    Totally agree Este,

Putting out a second string team sends a clear enough message to everyone ''we're not really fussed about this game", in turn, it can/does create a complacent way of thinking by the players who can clearly see the importance of the game based on the team selection.

While some say they're not worried by cup games, cup game wins generate a lot of money for the club, they're also a road into Europe, which in turn generates more money.

If Rosler is going to put out second string teams for cup games, then he's going down the road of the prem teams such as Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs, these are the teams we complained about when they put out their second string teams against us; makes us look hypercritical and shows that we contribute to lowering the standard and importance of our cup games.

I doubt very much that our fans want to pay to see a game of "we don't hold much importance for this game" attitudes from coach and players.

On the other hand, it could be Rosler wanted to see what some certain players had to offer in the second game in, but I myself would've still put out a full strength team for any cup game.

I couldn't get to see the match, relied on bits and bobs on my phone when I got a chance to see some of it.

Based on bits I saw, and others comments, it seems that Wood may turn out to be Billy Sharp, Morison and Barn Door Billy all rolled into one, the penalty was atrocious; is Rosler sure he didn't get a rugby player called Wood? mind you, Byram would make a good rugby player too.

I've never been 100% in favour of new coach's/managers bringing in players from their previous teams of 3 to 5 years prior, it's a whole new ball game and different team, if they are supposed to be so good then teams would hold on too'em any way. Having said that, some do work out but many don't, I think eventually, Dallas could be one of those that does work out for us.

With respects to Josh, and I know you rate Cook despite your performance score of 5 on him, but a 2 footed tackle in any instance or circumstance is not allowed, whether the studs were showing or not, doesn't matter if his toes were pointing upwards, inwards or towards his arse, a 2 footed tackle is deemed dangerous play.

Maybe now we're seeing why the big teams who monitored Cook and Mowatt backed off, they haven't been that effective in games so far, they have a hell of a lot of improvement to make.

With Cook out for 3 games, time for Sloth to step up, it'll be his make or break opportunity to show Rosler how important he can be to the team; if Rosler selects him it'll be all up to him.

Wootton, nuff said, time to go.

Could it be that Donny Rovers are our Nemesis, after all, they also had an ex Leeds player coaching them.

Three thousand and odd Leeds fans (and all those Leeds fans from Donny!) paid good money to be there... Its a fecking disgrace they were short changed by Rosler (Cellinos) team... They should all be refunded if we were not trying to win.

Agree with you LeedsLover over players who have previously worked under a manager. I know it can work and the argument for could be the coach gets the best out of the player but you also risk creating a divide or favouritism attitude in the dressing room.

Not panicking yet, still far too early to judge how we will do.
