SE is suggesting he just run out of legs after 30 minutes "The manager confirmed that bringing Jacob Mellis off towards the end of the game was merely to get some fresher legs on the pitch. He added: “We were looking for more energy late on in the game. He’s only had two training sessions since coming back into the group. When he went on we said he would probably get half an hour; he had run out of legs so we tried to get some freshness back on."
Oh dear, pick the bones out of that. Although good aerial display by O'Connor and Oliver leading to Dempsey's goal. Alwaysright is going to think I'm taking the p, aerial display. Medley did well to get back for their second, while McKenzie was trying to batten down the hatches, but all to no avail, when the shot was only palmed into the awaiting goal scorer. Although decent save by Bonham later in the game. For Doncasters first goal, are we frightened of attacking men in the box, this is where we need the exprience heads such as Fuller. Anyway, now I've finished playing football in my head, via a keyboard, I'm about to go and predict my star man.
I have realized that with football it's all in the wording. We upped our game in the 2nd half and it was end too end football............= we played hoofball. We didn't really press the ball in the first half................= They kept passing it between themselves and wouldn't let us have a turn. All in all they probably deserved to win the game today...............= we should be embarrassed to draw our wage, but what the hell we'll take it.
I'm sorry grumpygit - I couldn't 'like' your post - I was disappointed - I was expecting to read what excuses Evans had for the Accrington game.
They both recognise the problems, certainly in regards to the first half performance. As individuals they can't solely impact the effort of others. Evans has done a grand job of getting us where we are in the table, when everything in this year is considered, and as for Dempsey he is the engine room and with Graham out injured/rested, it's down to the others not Evans or Dempsey to look at themselves and say am I good enough, if the answer to that is yes, then why didn't you turn up to Doncaster (first half). This goes full cycle every season, and I will say what I always say, if you can't be arsed, leave, our club can't afford you.
