Just got back from rehearsal and looking at the stats it seems we got our asses well and truly kicked. Not the usual 1-0, but a one-sided thrashing. And we could have been thrashed on Saturday too if Huddersfield had their shooting boots on and Alnwick hadn't played a blinder. As things stand we're going down with a whimper. Only January, but at our best we're a stuffy hard-to-beat team and we won't win games that way.

Smith strikes again to earn Swindon a point.

Just about the best thing about our team this season has been the central midfield partnership of Stephens and Cousins. Why then does Powell keep tinkering with it ? It cannot be true that Cousins was tried on the right for a while last night. This isn't Football Manager on Playstation, FFS !

Just a straw poll of me and my sons this morning, but we are genuinely gloomy at the thought of League One football with a team full of foreign loans next season. Crowds with plummet further if that happens.

Duchatelet needs to do three things this week:

    1. Get the deserving, experienced players tied up with new contracts.
    2. Sign an experienced British Championship striker (or two)
    3. Sort out the manager's position.

Otherwise I fear we are going down, rudderless.

I agree with everything in that post volly. If the Stephens/Cousins partnership works, what did CP hope to achieve by breaking it up? Three days left of the transfer window, and if RD does 'nt want to see us in league one, he needs to splash the cash. More money for Yann, Wiggins and Stephens and a couple of experienced signings NOT from Liege or Ujpest!!!

I take it as a sign of desperation. A losing mentality has crept in, and Sir Chris is taking risks in the hope that they might just work. A bit like Alastair Cook in the Ashes tour.

You know it's bad when comparisons are made to Alastair Cook and the Ashes!!

What do you mean? England retained the Ashes last night! I suppose we'll have Oz on here pointing out that it was only the women's series- what sexism:emoticon-0105-wink:

I found CP's comments after the game incredible. "It was a game too far for us" and "fatigue". <wah>

Thanks to our pitch, we have hardly played lately !

What is really annoying is that by all accounts we had 5 players playing out of position and a manager out of his depth. And some thought we would win!!! It was not a big ask said one. How dumb some are.

When will the excuses stop? "we were tired" "it was not our night" "there was grass on the pitch" I have had enough of listening to what is in any language, complete bollox. How many games in the league have we won this season 5? or 6? My boy would rather do his homework on a Saturday than go to the Valley and I plead to do it with him. That is the biggest crime by CAFC officials and fans alike, accepting piss poor performances from a piss poor manager by fans with piss poor realisations. its all very well massaging your middle class aspirations but even club legends are fallible.

I just accept any more of this cack, I also noted that Smith scored again last night. What a surprise.

Granted those women put in a good effort, considering they were backing up from losing to our men ;)

    Sorry.

A game too far, what's that about ?

I feel sick, my club is doing nothing to address the situation right before it's very eyes. I was all for the takeover :(

Doncaster on a good run... Just goes to show how a couple of decent signings can change fortunes...

Gutted with this latest result, and even though I tend to look at the overall picture, and blame our dismal fortunes with the people sitting around the big table at The Valley, the team selection last night was beyond puzzling...

This is just my opinion but I get the feeling the new owner doesn't want CP, and with only months left on his contract is leaving it to run out rather then pay out the remainder. This is why the players are saying they won't sign until CP does, trying to back the manager that brought them in, leaving the new owner to think "well I'll just sell the lot of you i can now"

...in all honesty I don't think we'll see any players, other then SL throw backs, come in and fear at least 2 of our starting 11 will be out the door come Saturday morning :(

...well there goes my argument. It'd still be surprised if we sign anyone of Championship standard.
