The manufactured "Cold War" the US fought against Communism from the end of WW2 counts for nought as it was not in his time. He likes to start with a clean page and dismisses history or previous agreements as he did not have any part of them so thy are dumb(sic). He made some outlandish campaign promises that he is determined to achieve for his imagery, even if it is at the expense of US allies and America in the longer term. Current case in point is Russia battering Eastern Ukraine without comment, but that is Europe. He has his Sec of Defence in S Korea and Japan who he wants to arm with nuclear weapons to combat NKorea. He is ignoring China who have already stated that they will control N Korea.
