Don Howe died today aged 80. He had a long standing association with Arsenal, being first a player, then a coach that helped us to win the double in 1971, later he became our manager, which was when I first started going to watch Arsenal. Although he wasn't very successful as manager, his contribution to Arsenal and England was immense.

Always sad to see your childhood heroes die...but he'll always be a gooner legend and hopefully that'll be a great source of pride to his relatives and friends.
Enjoy your memories of him and raise your glass and toast his achievements.

I liked this guy....he was a proper footballing chap, talked a good one about the game and another icon of the 80's/90's when I was growing up.
