We need the midfield to chip in with goals. The midfield need to push teams back more and we should have one of the midfield looking to hit shots from around the box, Sterling also needs to get on the score sheet more if he's playing in that position. Yes we need a striker but others need to work harder and get goals.
With Gerrard playing so deep and picking passes we need a midfielder ahead of him, something is not right with the midfield set up we seem to have 3 deep midfielders?
I'm a fan of Allen but he is wasted in that position. When Lucas is back we should have 2 other midfielders playing further forward this will suit Allen more and he will create space for us.

So we have the comical sight of our front players passing wider & wider to each other as the move progresses resulting in a wide & high or blocked shot or cross. Usually with a FB standing beside them. Not that we have anyone in the box as this has resulted in our forwards being either side of the 18 yard box on the byline and to answer a question asked here last night; we have a midfield currently so static it collectively ball watches from the centre circle as the ball travels up our wide areas with our Full Backs and then they the midfield 3 watch (still static centrally) as once the move breaks down either side of said 18 yard box the opposition travel back down through the now open space out wide isolating our CB's who are either on their own or if accidentally Allen happens to be deep enough he reacts rather than is proactive & ends up fouling.
