Off Topic Dogs....need a bit advice.

Our current bulldog was a rescue bulldog, they home hundreds of bulldogs every year and they always wait until after the batch has had her first season.

May be bulldog specific though

You saved her a lot of suffering, mate. But the feeling of guilt will persist until the time comes, and it will, when your doubts will finally disappear. My poor dog didn’t have that escape and I will always have that guilt.

I think you made the right choice, We had an 8 year old Rottie and her insurance went up to £70 a month, decided to cancel it and just put the money in a bank account, 3 months later she stops eating her food, which for her sent alarm bells ringing and we took her to the vets, it cost me £3,000 and she died in a vet clinic, the money side of it doesnt bother me tbh, it was the fact she should have been at home with us. This incident has made me realise if anything like that happens with one of my dogs (I have 3) they will be at home until its the right time for them to go. Roker my oldest is now 12, I have just cancelled her insurance as it was up to £92 a month. I truly believe you made the right choice marra

But that's one thing we said after her first op to remove the small tumour, when we were told they couldn't remove it all cause of how or where it was growing and that it would be back. We wouldn't put her through chemo etc... or another op down the line. What we did was let her live until it got to a point we believed it was probably too much.

What makes me doubt is I didn't wait until she was showing signs of being in pain, being off her food or not being herself etc... as I didn't want her to suffer.

The vet said they would put her down about 18-24 months before we took her so that should tell me everything really. I took the decision cause the tumors rapidly grew over the last couple months.
