Bit of a rant coming on....unusual for me!
I am interested to know if anyone can offer any helpful advice at the same time please?
I am in the middle of renovating a house, a repossession where it is safe to say the previous owner's cleanliness and many other things leave a lot to be desired.
Whilst turning over the shocking garden to try and make it look something, I came across an item that I couldn't identify.
It was large in size and turned out to be a dogs basket semi projecting from the soil.
Poor unsuspecting me, I dug he whole thing out before I realised there was the remains of a Doberman, caked inside.
By now, the stench eminating from this object suddenly became overpowering and made a couple of us feel quite ill.
The smell filled the road for hours. I am now left with dog remains on the patio, like a solid block but with bones falling off it, in fact can't really go anywhere near it.
The police called as I thought the smell a bit sinister, and whilst they are convinced it is animal, they took some bones off for analysis.
The various authorities environmental, health and safety etc., do not want to know anything about helping me get rid of the poor mutts remains as the house is private and not council...what the Fug is that all about?
The three police in attendance offered no help other than to tell me the onus is on me to dispose of it somehow...goodbye they said as they closed the door firmly!
The lesson to be learned here is that when the ratepayer needs a little help in a difficult situation through no fault of their own....nothing is available!
As an animal lover, I do not want to dump it like some would and the cheapest pet cremetorium want seventy pounds to collect it!
Any ideas anyone?
